- In October 2013, Penn State announced a nearly $60 million settlement with 26 victims.
- Two years later, the university announced an additional $33.2 million to settle six more claims, bringing the total paid to $93 million for 32 claims.
- By November 2017, the total settlements for 33 people had reached $109 million.
- In November 2021, reports indicated that Penn State had paid close to $130 million to nearly 30 accusers.
In addition to the victim settlements, the scandal cost the university hundreds of millions of dollars in legal fees, internal investigations, public relations, and penalties from the NCAA.
