With quarterbacks, probably more than with any other position, the team you go to is such a crucial factor. What if Bradshaw had ended up on the Saints, and Archie Manning was a Steeler? Manning is probably in the Hall Of Fame, and Brad would be remembered as a talented guy who got stuck on a bad team. Look at Jim Plunkett, and Doug Williams. Two talented guys who ended up on bad teams, and took a physical beating. When they finally ended up with strong franchises, they won Super Bowls, even though both were only shadows of the studs they had been when they came into the league. Steve Young looked like hot garbage in Tampa, yet when he became a Niner, we got to see one of the greatest quarterbacks in the game's history.
