So much for all the Peppers lovers. Hopefully this takes him off our board in round 1. He is not an area of need.
he's never failed a drug test, so ...A source told ESPN's Schefter that Peppers, who has a history of cramping, was ill after flying to Indianapolis from San Diego, so he drank eight to 10 bottles of water as he was the first athlete to run for both the linebackers and defensive backs.
did you read?
he's never failed a drug test, so ...
i'm indifferent on Peppers, but he's also never failed a drug test.
It actually does count as a fail. He will be in the substance abuse program.
But, say everything is correct, he isn't a user and just hydrated because he has a history of cramps. That isn't much better...now he has a history of cramping up. That doesn't get me all warm and fuzzy about the guy, late in a game, it is on the line, he starts cramping. Maybe it only happens one week a month.
TMC, I feel like I'm chasing you around on this board defending Peppers like I have a man-crush on the guy. I don't, believe me. But I get the sense your critical view of him is a bit over the top. The kid had doubled-up his entire combine workout, once with the linebackers then with the DB's. In addition, it's reported he was dealing with an illness to begin with. The notion that he was dehydrated and suffered from cramps is not all that surprising. Not sure it's fair to draw the parallel as you're doing, that it's a sign of weakness that will carry over to his NFL career. That's it on Peppers for me, feel free to lambaste the kid all you want from here on.![]()

You don't "test positive" on a diluted sample
It's a diluted sample - I used to be a Drug Testing Monitor in the AF - I know this stuff - usually you immediately command another test
A diluted sample, doesn't necessarily prove the presence of a banned substance, it constitutes a failed test.
Re-test

A diluted sample is a urine test that has an abnormally high concentration of water, indicating a person MAY be attempting to mask other chemicals in their urine by oversaturating their system with water.
Kind of a reach to say he's using/ masking drugs because he's over hydrated. Oooooooh he's on drugs OR he's very hydrated. Nope, must be drugs. This is dumb in the category of NFL stupid
it may COUNT as a failed test, but it's unfair to equate this to failing a drug test a la Randy Gregory.
As Tibs noted, dude was sick and doing double the work. I'd give the guy a pass on this IF he was on my board. I'm absolutely not advocating drafting him, though.
it's almost like saying someone getting a traffic ticket for a rolling stop is the same as the guy committing multiple DUIs where people were killed. both get tickets.
