The Steelers offense has truly transitioned from smash-mouth old school football to the new age of offense in today's NFL...

5 wide *******
Don't like the new NFL but if it gets the win... Better keep the run game tuned up in case the Steelers run into inclement weather.
I don't mind bombs away offenses. The issue is going to be can they out "bomb" the pats* or Broncos?
Most of the recent Super Bowls have been won by teams that played good defense, had a good running game and an efficient offense, there are exceptions, but defense and running the football have had the most success.
2014 - Seahawks
2013 - Ravens
2012 - Giants
2011 - Packers
2010 - Saints
2009 - Steelers
2008 - Giants
2007 - Colts
2006 - Steelers
2005 - Pats
2004 - Pats
2003 - Buccaneers
2002 - Pats
2001 - Ravens
There were some juggernaut offenses in there, but in some cases their defense was outstanding as well, Saints, Colts (their "D" carried Manning that year in the playoffs), and Packers, for what its worth.

Take a deeper look at those teams.
2014 - Seahawks- Agreed, run first defensive team
2013 - Ravens- Nope, they fielded one of the poorer defenses in a superbowl this year, average at best and fairly injured late, and were a pass first team for the entire playoffs
2012 -Giants- fielded a bad defense and subpar run game with the 5th ranked passing game. look at the stats not the rep here
2011 - Packers Pass first team with a good defense
2010 - Saints Pass first team with a good run game and good defense
2009 - Steelers 23rd in the league in rushing, 22nd in passing, GREAT defense... won the superbowl with a passing offense
2008 - Giants Agreed, run first defensive team
2007 - Colts - Pass first offense, blah defense
2006 - Steelers Agreed, run first defensive team
