I hate to say it but I've never had cornbread with my chili. I do like cornbread though but usually with gumbo.

Also you use either cinnamon or unsweetened cocoa powder in it depending on which side you subscribe too, Gold Star or Skyline.

It's because I make my chili without beans.

Best way IMO

Chuck roast, spices, onions/garlic/fresh jalapanos, maybe a little celery for texture.
Shredded cheese on top with sour cream ( homemade Greek-style yogurt works too) and green onions.
Cornbread is optional but if you make it, don't put sugar or AP flour in it... that's called 'cake'
