It is not fair to say, but I think I am ready for Benny Snell football.

Nice to see Coach yet again going all-in predicting doom & gloom for a Steeler who hasn't played a single snap. I'm real excited to see Snell in action, so glad we got him.

Interesting seeing as he ran the same exact 40 time as Conner at the combine
Conner 4.6,
Snell 4.6,

They were both slower than a 240lb Bell

Facts prove you're opinions wrong every time Coach

Maybe so "bigben" but Conner had more 20+ yard runs then Bell ever sniffed. Clocked speed and field speed are two different things. Conner proved better than bell so quit the mountain out of a dubbie hill.

And yes, Snell & Conner will be just fine.

Salute the nation

Sorry DRINK but I am going to have to strongly disagree with you on this highlighted statement. No matter how you look at it.
Bell had 26 runs of 20+ yards and Conner only has 10 ( does the fact it took Bell his whole career to do that matter ????)
Another view: Bell has 702 documented runs of 20+ yards by my count. It goes like this ....dance to the left 4 yards, one 1 yard back, dance to the right 5 yards, stutter step, dance to the left 4 yards, stutter step back 2 yards, hit the hole for a 4.3 yard run. That all adds up to 20.3 yards of running for a 4.3 yard gain. Math don't lie....
Steelers should have insisted that Leveon Bell, not Antonio Brown make it onto DANCING with the STARS.......he practices harder and has more experience in the field of dancing

Spends too much time dwelling on 40 times. Football speed doesn't compute....

In order to use logic you must get that facts correct. Also the game has changed. If there are any feature backs Bettis size today, go ahead and list them.

Facts? Did you say correct facts?

Tell us genius who has the most 20+ yards runs during like tackling at camp? (Yeah it’s camp, but logic requires actual evidence).

I’ll help......Snell......by a lot.

And Snell is nowhere near Bettis' size either. Snell is listed at 225, right around the same area of Bell and Conner and as was stated earlier Snell and Connor both have the same 40 times. I just don't see the logic behind that statement. I'm not saying he's going to be a Hall of Famer or even a workhorse back but maybe, just maybe,we could let him play one actual NFL down before before we start labeling him. I'm also curious as to how many games you've actually seen Snell play to come up with your analysis.

Snell has 5 rushes for 9 yards so far. Comparing him to Bettis is a joke.

Yes I have seen him play. He not quick enough. Bettis had light feet and quickness

You know coach I haven't jumped on you at all because from time to time I think you have some okay observations and the rest of the board seems to hammer you relentlessly so I figure why pile on. Now I see the kind of pettiness that brings on the criticism you receive. You truly are a douche

Remember this is supposed to be the “new” posting type Coach.

Coach is often too busy snorting his own farts to realize how much of a douche he is

Show me where I compared Snell to Bettis

You know what you wrote. Don’t use a hall of fame players name and a 4th round pick who looked below average in the same sentence with the word logic.

He’s a 3rd strong back. Edmunds was more productive last night and he’d projected to be cut by those who predicted the 53 man roster.

I was disappointed. Did not expect that at all. I am more ready for James Conner football..Maybe Snell will look better behind the starting OL.

Snell is a rookie. We all should be rooting for him to succeed. He's a Steeler and we WILL need him to play and play well at some point! He had a rough night last night but that doesn't mean he sucks. It just means he's a rookie.

I didn't catch much of the game, but the 2-3 times I saw Snell get the ball it looked like he was getting hit in the backfield. Maybe that wasn't actually the case.

no, you are right. There was definitely some run blocking issues last night and he had some guys in his grill right around the time he got the exchange a few times. I always take that into account. Beyond that, however, I saw a straight ahead bull rusher and between tackles grinder. He certainly isn't a zone or 'wiggle' type back nor does he appear to have a game breaking speed. Which is pretty much what I understood him to be coming into the game. Here is the thing, there is nothing wrong with that. I like having a guy that can come in and smash a couple yards out on a gut run. He is clearly a tough kid and I think he will get pass protection worked out and be an asset there as well.

He is going to look a lot better behind a first string line that has the chemistry playing together like our OL does. He will look much better behind those guys and with other threats (e.g., JuJu) on the field. I think there is a spot for him on the spot for him to contribute, but I don't see him as a future bell cow. Looking past extremes of HoF and Bust, the guy is going to be a solid contributor and depth player. And we need guys like that - especially at RB. We need a guy who can be physical in pass pro. We need a guy that grind out a few yards on a gut run. Snell can be that guy. But this isn't 1992 where 3 yards and a cloud of dust is a viable game plan. He is a role player and I think he can be successful in that role.

Yes I do know what I wrote which is why I said show me where I compared Snell to Bettis and instead you deflect and say "you know what you wrote." Again I'm not saying Snell is going to be a Hall of Famer or even a work horse back and I never compared him to Bettis I simply stated according to your theory of Snell being too big, (which was your original theory no mention of feet or anything else), that Bettis should have never been a workhorse back either. All I'm saying is give the kid a ******* chance. By the way, your reading comprehension sucks.

I think Snell started to play better later in the game. Not sure if it was due to defensive subs or not, but hopefully he will continue to improve

The Bucs gave our OL fits against the run pretty much all night. They have some solid players on that DL.

And did you see his work on STs. Guy is a hustler and just someone you can tell loves all aspects of football. He'll have time to shine soon.

Fair assessment Hoot. Considering it was his first appearance in a professional game, without the starting OL, vanilla game plan and mixing 3rd and 4th string players on both sides.

Now had we the supreme insight of ignoring a college career and only focusing on Senior Bowl practices and Senior Bowl performances we could identify what a player’s entire professional legacy will be. Wait....Coach already does that and we see how often he is wrong. Never mind.
