It is not fair to say, but I think I am ready for Benny Snell football.

Conner is our No. 1 period. He has earned it. Snell won't get significant snaps unless Tomlin does change his philosophy and decides to split carries but even then, Conner will get 2/3 of the carries. Snell only gets significant snaps if Conner gets injured and we definitely don't want that to happen because he definitely is our best RB.

I think this is a good place to drop this..

Most runs of 10+ yards, #Steelers camp:

Benny Snell: 5
Ralph Webb: 4
Malik Williams: 3
Trey Edmunds: 1
Travon McMillan: 1
James Conner: 0
Jaylen Samuels: 0

I don't think anyone is annointing him to the HOF or even the starting role at RB.
I just think we have had enough of the negative **** surrounding Lev Bell and AB and that its refreshing to look forward to some positive signs and to get behind the young talent in camp.

We can choose to cry in our beer over what should have, could have been or speculate, enjoy a drink, wave the Ttowel a little and hold a positive outlook of things to come. If Snell tears it up.... great
If he stumbles and falls... fans can choose to pile on ...or say oh well he was just a rookie you can't expect too much at first . We picked him up in the 4th round , not the 1st so I agree lets wait and see if he is a value pick. In the meantime I am going to support him anyway I can because he wears the Black and Gold
Go Steelers Good Times
You obviously haven't met Coach yet...

Snell probably won't be in pass pro much this season. He's the guy that's coming in to batter the DL.

Conner made the pro bowl on 12 games. He's the featured back. End of story.

The reason why we're going to run a pony backfield this year, is because of JaySam. He's actually a better receiver than Bell was. Not a better runner, or better in pass pro, but now the D just can't go jumbo when we line up pony with 2 pass catching backs! That's freakin awesome!

i do want to see a few series each game, where Conner gets a rest. That is needed to keep him healthy all year and into the playoffs. This year, we have the backs to do it.
This gives me a woodie (in my Scottish-Irish accent)!!!

Now you have gone and done it.
**** to follow: CONS: football in shorts, against practice squad players, yeah but can he catch, not as good as L Bell, it happened on walk throughs, yeah but he is too slow, yadayadayada
-----------------------PROS: I told you so, Conner's job in jeopardy, ROPOY, 2000 yards season , steal of the draft, yadayadayada

I liked "Renegades". They might even add a few shots of power running, or big plays to the video.

Conner, Snell, JaySam. Throw Nix into the mix = The Four Horsemen

Ehhhh, that's too much a ripoff of Notre Dame's Layden, Crowley, Stuhldreher, and Miller from the roaring 20s.

Does PESTILENCE, DEATH, FAMINE & WAR sound more to your liking:deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse:

I pray almost everyday that I'm not around for them.

Don’t get too excited as third string backs often shine in the pre season vs 3rd string defenses.

Snell is too slow to feature in the NFL as an every down back, I see him as a short yardage or blocking specialists who can catch the ball but is no Samuels or Conner with it
In his hands.

confluence inc

That would work 11 months out of the year but for the month of OCTOBER, change it to confluence Pinc

So by that logic I guess Bettis should have never been a feature back either

Interesting seeing as he ran the same exact 40 time as Conner at the combine
Conner 4.6,
Snell 4.6,

They were both slower than a 240lb Bell

Facts prove you're opinions wrong every time Coach

I think Snell will do well for us. Its nice to have him back there and know he's available if needed.

Ask Joe Namath about his teammate Matt Snell (Benny's great uncle)!:logo:

I think you're off on this one Coach. Speed is not the only equation to annointing an every day back...Consider the following & see if Snell checks any of these other boxes

1. Power
2. Vison
3. Elusiveness & moves
4. Tough to bring down
5. Stamina

Ask Joe Namath about his teammate Matt Snell (Benny's great uncle)!:logo:

So you're saying Benny is already GREAT in his own right (nephew)
Glad you brought this up as I did not know he was related.
Researching further, Benny has been surrounded by a family full of former coaches, RBs, etc. all his life. Good bloodlines. Time to Bleed a little Black & Gold!!!

fixed it for you

Bettis had unusually quick feet for a big back.

Snell does not. Face it he’s a slow in between the tackles north / south type of back.

In order to use logic you must get that facts correct. Also the game has changed. If there are any feature backs Bettis size today, go ahead and list them.

And Snell is nowhere near Bettis' size either. Snell is listed at 225, right around the same area of Bell and Conner and as was stated earlier Snell and Connor both have the same 40 times. I just don't see the logic behind that statement. I'm not saying he's going to be a Hall of Famer or even a workhorse back but maybe, just maybe,we could let him play one actual NFL down before before we start labeling him. I'm also curious as to how many games you've actually seen Snell play to come up with your analysis.
