Everything I am hearing says this guy is the real deal. He Carries himself like a leader. Everything he has done in camp has been described as effortless. If Conner stalls or gets injured, I think Snell will make it very hard for him to get his job back. I believe Snell is the type of back that gives an offense a clear identity.

He is going to be fun to watch. Conner is going to blow it up this year also! we are in a good spot running back wise. Bell who?

We need to come up with a name for this group of backs.

This group could be the best combination since those we had in the 70's with Rocky and Franco.

Would be great but the emphasis is on "Could". That's a combination that would be tough to match. I do think that with defenses geared to stop the high powered aerial attacks, a strong running game would likely cause a !@#$load of chaos.

I want to see him pass protect first before anointing him as the second coming.

You should see some clips of his pass pro at Kentucky. I know it's the NFL, but he's definitely a pass protector. And I'm not just talking want-to, this guy has a good sense of picking up who's coming from where, stunts/blitzes etc. I'll be shocked if that doesn't translate over to the NFL.

Either

Steel Cerberus
or
Steel Ghidorah

Because......don't forget about JaySam.

and he hasn't ran a single down in the NFL.

I don't think anyone is annointing him to the HOF or even the starting role at RB.
I just think we have had enough of the negative **** surrounding Lev Bell and AB and that its refreshing to look forward to some positive signs and to get behind the young talent in camp.

We can choose to cry in our beer over what should have, could have been or speculate, enjoy a drink, wave the Ttowel a little and hold a positive outlook of things to come. If Snell tears it up.... great
If he stumbles and falls... fans can choose to pile on ...or say oh well he was just a rookie you can't expect too much at first . We picked him up in the 4th round , not the 1st so I agree lets wait and see if he is a value pick. In the meantime I am going to support him anyway I can because he wears the Black and Gold
Go Steelers Good Times

He's having a good camp. He's surprising with his ability to catch. He will cut his teeth on ST this year and I'm going to guess injury is all that could allow him to exceed 5% of the snaps in the backfield.

Snell probably won't be in pass pro much this season. He's the guy that's coming in to batter the DL.

Conner made the pro bowl on 12 games. He's the featured back. End of story.

The reason why we're going to run a pony backfield this year, is because of JaySam. He's actually a better receiver than Bell was. Not a better runner, or better in pass pro, but now the D just can't go jumbo when we line up pony with 2 pass catching backs! That's freakin awesome!

i do want to see a few series each game, where Conner gets a rest. That is needed to keep him healthy all year and into the playoffs. This year, we have the backs to do it.

Conner, Snell, JaySam. Throw Nix into the mix = The Four Horsemen

I could totally see cool shades having him inactive most of the games. Remember, he likes to stick with one back and run the wheels off.
Which I totally disagree with.

Darn nRIGHT Cope, James Conner needs a rest now and then. Especially if the game is in hand. I don't care about individual player stats so If it merits it, spell him.

Salute the nation
