Because it's the off season...
Tomlin benefited much from the AB saga at the end of the season. It distracted from the late season collapse and paradoxically made him somewhat of a sympathetic figure with 90% of the fan base's rage focused on the scapegoat.
AB caught 15 TDs last year and was much better at his job the past 6 seasons than Tomlin was at his.
Not buying the whole "Tomlin was the only thing holding this team together" nonsense being floated in some circles.
He created and aided and abetted the culture: From Young Money all the way down to Grimble on the goal line and Nix mic dropping after a failed fake punt with the season on the line.
