Initial Thoughts on rats Game

So, Austin finally understands.
Yes, Rogers is the only coach the Steelers have. Current coaches expect every player to already know everything (even rookies) when they join the Steelers. They believe their only responsibility is to give orders and expect perfection. Result is mediocrity based on true talent.

Oh, and locker room control = 0.

It used to be that the nose of the ball just had to break the plane of the white line. What’s with all this 3 feet down and football move bs? That was clearly a catch. Maybe it was a make up call for the F up when Flowers never had his left foot down.
Ok. I'm not saying that it's not a stupid rule. But when the league and the CBS official analyst say its not a catch it's not a catch. Because the TV telecast team says it is......oh that's right Tony Romo and Jim Nance are officiating the SB this year.
I think the NFL needs to go with ACC transparency.

He didn't look hurt. I am tired of everyone saying that for him. It is the end of a football season Noone is 100%
Rodgers has a cast on him. Let's make excuses for him.
No one's making excuses for anybody. Somebody inquired if he was any good anymore and that was my response. You can look at his play throughout the year and see that hes been plagued most of the season.

Sorry bud. I live near Baltimore and get the Lamar is God shoved down my throat.
It is nauseating. Kinda good to see him play like a normal player a bit.

I didn't know you need three feet down. Are we going to see guys growing a third foot in college so they can get them all down at the same time. Improve draft stock
Two steps and a football move, whether that is tucking the ball away or a third step... Been that way for several years now

Maybe that's just for scoring plays, are there different rules depending on where the ball is caught

Doesn't make sense to me but doesn't really matter either

no in the middle of the field the call would have been the same

2 feet and a football move

or 2 feet and complete the catch if going to the ground

Same M.O. every year. Yall get excited and think they are making the adjustments to make a run in the playoffs. Not gonna happen. The NFL made their calls to keep Tomlin relevant via WWE. If you’re an objective fan and not an emotional one you’ll see the trend. I gave up being emotionally involved 8 years ago, for your sanity I suggest you do the same.

We know we would all be pissed as hell if that TD was overturned against the Steelers. I still have no ******* clue what a catch is in the NFL.

And just think, that play might prove to be the difference between Tomlin leaving after this season and staying for two more years! Crazy.

I’ve got a feeling the tomlin will be here next season.

A lot pends on how the season turns out.

If they make the playoffs—— he will be here.

Salute the nation

So, if they get to 9 wins, does Rooney give Tomlin another 3-year extension? LOL. A top 15 pick would have been much easier to move into the top 10 than picking at 20 or worse.

I hear yaz tDX27, but I think next year is played first and if there is an extension……….. it will reflect on what next season gives us.

It's has been two steps and a football move for years, they changed the nomenclature a bit this year to be two steps and "completion of the catch" which means holding the ball without losing control for a beat of time, or the ball surviving the ground, or the third step. This was to eliminate the debate over if a wr catches the ball, stands in place for 3 seconds then gets hit and goes to the ground and loses the ball, is that an incomplete since the wr didn't "make a football move".

that is because the person is running with the ball already aka a football move. Should just be 2 feet for a catch in the EZ though

So when player tightropes the sideline to make a catch, gravity takes care of the football move

I'm not that excited. I think we're going to the Super Bowl, but I'm not really convinced we'll win it. That said, I do think we'll cover the spread.

It's probably a good time to look at the standings. I used the NY Times playoff simulator for odds.

AFC East
New England 11-2
Buffalo 9-4

New England is at 90% to win the division and Buffalo 97% to make the playoffs.

AFC North
Pittsburgh 7-6
Baltimore 6-7

Massive win for the Steelers as it flipped the script. We sit at 66% to win the division and make the playoffs while the Ravens are at 31%. That's basically the only path to the playoffs at this point.

AFC South
Jacksonville 9-4
Houston 7-5
Indianapolis 8-5

Liam Coen has turned Jacksonville around and they control the division with a 73% chance to win and are at 97% to make the playoffs. Houston has a good defense are at 67% to make the playoffs. Indianapolis is toast now that Daniel Jones is out for the season.

AFC West
Denver 11-2
LAC 8-4
KC 6-6

Denver is essentially clinched for the playoffs as well as the division (90%). LAC is at 66% to make the playoffs and the Chiefs are at 43%, but really need to win tonight.

Standings as of today:

1. Denver
2. New England
3. Jacksonville
4. Pittsburgh
5. Buffalo
6. LAC
7. Indianapolis

This win means Tomlin is going nowhere. The steelers will make the playoffs because the AFC North is imploding. Steelers will win by being the least dysfunctional. Then lose in the wildcard. Rinse repeat.

As usual, they were better in the first half than the second half.
Nice win to lead the division but in the grand scheme of things a .500 team beat another .500 team, so you're not going to get great football.
