Initial Thoughts on rats Game

So. Steelers have been getting screwed all year by bad ref calls. Normally, the refs make up a bad call in the same game, but not this year. Today, the refs HAD to make up their crap calls and won game for the Steelers.
they didn't win **** for the steelers...they just didn't steal it away

there was a lot of time on the clock if that TD had counted

how would it matter if i were "evaluating him this year" i dont evaluate him any year. I said it looks like a bad pick.
You might be a minority in thinking that. I think he is a solid cover corner. He just has lapses in his game here and there.

I'm happy the team won, but I've finally fully come over to the Tomlin needs to go side. This team will never be better than a team without a losing season as long as Tomlin has the power to keep the offense stuck in the mud. He's lucky the conservative play calling in the 4th didn't cost them the game today. Once they go to run, run, pass behind the LOS, punt mode, the defense gets run down after about a quarter of play. Why go away from the anti-Tomlin approach they used to start the game and go deep since it was working?

The box score pretty much sums up Tomlin's approach to offense. The 2nd and third leading receivers for the game are both running backs with more yards receiving than rushing and that was nothing to brag about. I'm now convinced this team will never be better than average with Tomlin. His defense isn't any better. Tomlin needs to be stripped of most of his game-day play calling power and allowed to be the face of the team only , or let go.

Sorry for such a negative post after beating the Rats since that's always a great thing regardless. Tomlin's way simply does not result in beating good teams consistently enough to be ultra competitive and his game preparation allows for too many bad games against both good and bad teams.

I will give credit to DK and Rodgers for starting the game determined to actually look like an offense. I was thinking the run defense was better, but they still gave up over 200 yards rushing.
Tomlin has to go. Listen to all the post game interviews today, even Tomlin. "Today everyone stepped up and played". Isn't that supposed to be every game???

That was a TD every day but today. I didn't see roughing on the early FG. Rodgers didn't come down with the ball so who knows what they're watching on NYC.

All good today but the problem with the stupid rules and bad calls is when they don't go your way
Rodgers was on his knees with the ball

the roughing was questionable but so was the "catch" on their first drive and a few other calls

I am shocked they over turned the TD...it was very close but by the letter of the law I can see why they over turned...but yes if it was the Steelers I would be pissed

I’m not sure this team has the ability to put together back to back wins.

The play calling is still awful.

The defense looks exhausted and honestly they got a lucky win today… but it counts.

Unfortunately I see 2 pretty bad losses coming up the next 2 games.

The replay showed the Ratbird catch the ball and get 2 feet down. The ball was moving and loose before he got his 3rd foot down. That is an incomplete pass. It was close, but the replay showed it to be incomplete.

Don't get me wrong, the rule sucks, and that should be a TD, but based on the current rules, it is not.
This, it moves JUST a millisecond before that third foot hits turf. That being said, I think the rule needs changed, two feet is a catch, period. I know that's not the rule, but it should be.

I didn't know you need three feet down. Are we going to see guys growing a third foot in college so they can get them all down at the same time. Improve draft stock

So how is Tomlin supposed to make them step up?

I’m sure his pre game pep talk performances are unmatched.

If you want to look at the big picture.......not helpful. But I am and always will he a fan. So I'm never not going to enjoy any win much less over Rats. If I ever do not just going to stop watching for a while. And like I said will be watching Hairball's pressers more then twice tonight.

Lamar is hurt. He maybe makes half their practices.
He didn't look hurt. I am tired of everyone saying that for him. It is the end of a football season Noone is 100%
Rodgers has a cast on him. Let's make excuses for him.

Rodgers was back in form today and used his playmaker, it was good to see.

When is Harmon coming back? We really need him to get this run defense together.

Does Lamar stink now?

JPJ had some lame calls against him today. Knocking the ball away from Likely in what should've been the go-ahead TD for the Ravens was the defensive play of the game.
They need to give Thielen a crash course and work him in there. They might be able to move the ball enough to be competitive in a playoff game if they can be more route flexible.

Win it all? Nahh..not enough ayahuasca in Rodgers locker for me to believe that.

It used to be that the nose of the ball just had to break the plane of the white line. What’s with all this 3 feet down and football move bs? That was clearly a catch. Maybe it was a make up call for the F up when Flowers never had his left foot down.

Ok, so what does that have to do with the players stepping up today?
Because they knew if they didn't win today a different coach would require them to step up EVERY game. Something the Steelers have not had to do for over 10 years.

Rodgers said to shut the hell up about Tomlin

Could be but what happens when the shoe is on the third foot

Was Dez Bryant watching?

I saw that. Seemed like he was strongly "suggesting" something.
Yes. Plus, a few weeks ago in a Calvin Austin interview on the practice field, Austin said that Rogers knows responsibilities of every player (as should coaches) and Rogers explained why things have to happen the way they do. Austin said "now it makes sense".
