A couple ways to do it..

1. Never let Burns see the field besides special teams. One of the dumbest players in the NFL, without question. 0 football IQ.

2. Remove Vince Williams and implement LJ Fort as full time ILB. He's got the speed and has coverage ability which makes sense in Butler's scheme of putting the ILB on WRs(terrible scheme).

3. Get Ola reps at OLB in place of Bud, work Thomas in at MLB for pass downs.

Overall, I have seen some improvement especially against the run.

P.s... Cam Heyward, are you on the team still???

Agreed on all three points. We have a bye week next. Time to make some changes.

Unfortunately I doubt any changes are made, we all watched Timmons trying to cover in the NE games, and that never changed, now it's Williams turn to be the guy that can't cover, but we still put him out there to do just that

After today, I do think Burns will not be the starter. He will still see the field but he will not be our No. 2. Not sure they will put Fort in over Williams when Fort is back healthy after the bye but they probably need to.

When we trade/cut Bell that will free up some much needed loot. Go after a def player that can help

Artie Burnt should never be on the field especially in the last 2 minutes. The opposing offense doesn't even need to call a play. All the QB has to do is locate #25 and target whoever he's attempting to cover.

My view is LB makes us better if he Is on the field. That is fact. But, I’ll rake Connor and his contact and money to spend where it is so bad key needed over LBat this point.

Williams did not paly a bad game.. Burns has never played a great game, he stinks, he should be let go during the rest and have fun instead of practice and make yourself a better team off week. Pick up anyone they cannot do worse than Burns.

They should leave Burns in Cinncy and if he finds his way back cut him immediately. He is THAT bad. The U...he's a dumbass liability.

Cut him, Trade Bell, and try to go after Patrick Peterson

1 I would definitely re bench him and then call Arizona and see what they want for Peterson.

2 Did you see the difference between when Vince is there and when he isn't? Yeah he is a liability.

3 Dupree has had a better year to this point. I can deal with his play.

4 Cam isn't having his best year, but I would imagine he will pick it up.

2. Glad I'm not the only one who saw a difference.

3. Bud isn't a huge liability, I just would like to see what Ola has, especially on pass rush downs.

Still need to trade for him. That won’t be cheap.

That's why I said I'd give up a high pick for him. He's under contract through 2020 and is a top 3-5 cornerback in the league. Based on how the Steelers draft defenders, I'm willing to take that risk. Peterson, Haden, and Hilton would make for a terrific trio of cornerbacks.

At some point you may get to see it. They've been working Chickillo in as a rotational pass rusher and I think you're getting solid results from him and Dupree. Adding one more set of fresh legs to the mix, even if it's just for a few snaps a game would be exciting once we get to the second half of the season.

Right now I'd try to land Patrick Peterson to immediately sure up our secondary. That alone with Haden gives us a great secondary. They've got to do something with the OLB positions. Bud Dupree has gotta go. IMO with his ability to cover downfield he is better suited to play at ILB than OLB. I also think Matthew Thomas needs to be worked into a LB Rotation. The kid can play either ILB or OLB and he is without question the fastest of our LB'ers.

They have got to do their due diligence with Patrick Peterson to work out a trade getting him to Pittsburgh. I'd go a second round pick for him. As for trading LevBell, I don't think so. I don't think he's coming util after the trade deadline which ensures him he cant be moved. That prick is all about himself and will not do anything that may jeopardize his value for next season so don't think we see him sign tender until trade deadline has passed.

We'd have to get rid of Bell to pull off the Peterson trade. Peterson is $800k more this year, and his cap for the next 2 years would be:

2019 $11.25
2020 $12.3

I agree with this post. Sometimes, I'm not to sure what some of you see. Williams was pretty damn solid today.

I saw him too slow to react in some instances.

But yeah Burns is the biggest D issue right now.

Might be time for a permanent benching.

Williams is good on the blitz and in the box. He doesn't have side line to sideline range to catch anyone running wide, and should NEVER cover a receiver.

Fort's game might suit the defense better. Bostic was pretty quiet today.

If we didn't have Bostic, I think Vince would be fine in his place but the two of them are the exact same LBer. Solid against the run but that's about it.
We need some speed and athleticism opposite the thumpers, that's where LJ Fort comes into play.

People see what they want to see.

Williams played fine today, except when tasked with covering a wide receiver. Which is a problem with the scheme, not any fault of his.
