Improve the defense immediately

People see what they want to see.

Williams played fine today, except when tasked with covering a wide receiver. Which is a problem with the scheme, not any fault of his.

He shouldn't be in the field in obvious passing situations, like he was today, that's everyone's issue.

They're trying to use Williams the same way they used Shazier and Timmons in his prime, despite Williams having only a fraction of the speed and range those guys had.

Please stop the dumb talk about cutting Bell. The Steelers are not going to throw away a 3rd round draft pick. Bell will be here. Can you imagine this board if we cut Bell, and then Conner got hurt later in the season? Bell will be an asset for a team trying to win this year.

1. Never let Burns see the field besides special teams. One of the dumbest players in the NFL, without question. 0 football IQ.

2. Remove Vince Williams and implement LJ Fort as full time ILB. He's got the speed and has coverage ability which makes sense in Butler's scheme of putting the ILB on WRs(terrible scheme).

3. Get Ola reps at OLB in place of Bud, work Thomas in at MLB for pass downs.

Overall, I have seen some improvement especially against the run.

P.s... Cam Heyward, are you on the team still???

Square peg in a round hole, indeed. Fort is not the answer, either.

I guess we have to hope that Matt Thomas eventually develops into the type of player who can possibly fill that role with some degree of success. Certainly doesn't look like the coaching staff is interested in making any schematic adjustments, does it?

Williams is a good blitzer a mediocre run defender, he can tackle runs right at him but struggles to change direction and chase and is awful in pass coverage. We just gave this bum 4 more years at 6 million per,

We'd have to get rid of Bell to pull off the Peterson trade. Peterson is $800k more this year, and his cap for the next 2 years would be:

2019 $11.25
2020 $12.3

Just rescind the tag, that should clear up enough space for Peterson to cover his next two years after this one and if you're getting Peterson, who cares about the third round comp pick which is really a 4th round pick anyhow. This year, and the next two years are probably Ben's window for another SB run. So, ask yourself, are the Steelers better with Peterson and no Bell or with Bell and no Peterson? I'll take the current team, Peterson and less draft picks for a shot at the SB this year and two more.

Besides special teams? Did you see that ******* Burnt running with his back turned to the ball on one of the long returns? ****, keep that ******* off the field period. His heart and his head isn't in it.

Vince Williams isn't the issue on defense.
Thomas definitely needs to be on the field.
