OK so in the Post-Game you've got Tomlin, Ben and other players saying the officials had no bearing on the outcome of that game.

A statement like that is nothing but a FREE-PASS for the NFL and NFL Officials. These players and coaches really need to step up and make bold statements about the level of incompetence when it comes to NFL Officiating.

That first PI call on Joe Haden is absolutely ridiculous......it might even be worse than the False Start penalty that was missed in the Chargers game that gave the Chargers a TD. Haden basically touched the WR's back....not to mention the throw was about 5 feet over Kamara's head....it wasn't a catch-able ball.

The PI on Haden on the 4th & 2 is also ridiculous....the flag wasn't thrown until Thomas gets up and signals interference......then two refs toss a flag. If the refs didn't throw it initially....then it shouldn't be a penalty because obviously they didn't see it or they would have thrown the flag instantly as the play ended....instead it was seconds later after Thomas got up looking for a flag ala Tom Brady.

We have seen the NFL officiating change the outcome of games....unnecessarily and really ultimately change the outcome of games.....today was a perfect example.

And if no one noticed Michael Thomas pushed off right in front of the ref on the go ahead TD catch and no call was made....you can see Haden take a step backwards and no call on that either!

Fans, Players, Coaches and anyone involved in the NFL has seen it.......for what we pay for tickets to a game WE ALL DESERVE BETTER!

These players not calling out the officiating calls......really is almost like backing down from the MONSTER that in the NFL.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO CALL THEM OUT! IT'S RUINING THE GAME!!!

Haden called them out after the game.

It's every week and every game. I'm alright with some calls that could go either way and the ones that are tough to make at live speed. However, we're talking about obvious calls that even an average football fan could make if given the opportunity.

Yeah, **** the refs but mostly **** Tomlin. I was screaming at him to throw the flag on the Saints fumble. That was clearly a catch and a football move. He fumbled when he got lit up. Tomlin and the refs have sunk to new lows. So many mistakes by both today.

It's about time someone does because that officiating today for an NFL game was INEXCUSABLE! It really has never been any worse!

That would have just been added to his list of challenges that failed. No way would that have been overturned.

Tomlin is on the competition committee. I hope he takes that phantom Haden PI call to the meetings and pushes to make PI a reviewable call. It absolutely should be. It is absurd that you can be giving a team 50 yards or more on a single call and it's not reviewable. Particularly on long plays where the ref is running after the play and may not be in a good position to see what happened.

We’ll never know because he never tried. ****** hasn’t won a challenge in two years, what’s one more?

I don't think it'll ever get reviewed because they don't review any of those types of plays. They don't review holding calls, block in the back calls, tripping calls ETC...

The fact that Tomlin uses the video board to review his challenges is ******* STUPID. You think the Saints showed replays on any questionable plays to help him out? Makes no sense at all.

Tomlin's thoughts on the officiating.....“I’m not here to evaluate the officiating,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. “I’ll let those guys evaluate themselves in the appropriate manner. … The officiating did not determine the outcome of the game. We find comfort in that. "

Oh ya. Give the ******* moron something ELSE to throw an idiotic challenge flag at.

Tomlin is correct about not allowing the officiating to affect what you are trying to do. But it is his job to work the officials to get calls. Harbaugh works the officials, Belichick works the officials and the worst by far is Carroll. Anyone see a pattern?

That's exactly the reason I think change IS going to come in regard to reviewing PI calls. And it should.

When Jim Nantz, hardly a flame-thrower, says unequivocally that the first PI call on Haden was horseshit - for all of the country to hear - the league has to take notice.

When he sees a bad call, Nantz hardly ever says anything more than, "Mmm..tough call." But in this case, Steratore and, as I recall, Romo, chimed in.

It's an embarrassment to the league that has to be dealt with.

They should change it to the college rule or something similar. Everything is geared to the offense. You have to let the defense do something. So don't use a spot foul for a PI. Make it a 15 or 20 yard penalty.

Once more, while you should never be allowed to challenge a no call on a penalty to get one called, you absolutely should be able to challenge an actual call that wasn’t a penalty... several games a week are drastically affected by bullshit calls... the only excuse for this not already being a thing is that the league wants the refs to be able to influence games, because it gets discussed every year and they want nonpart of it...

Its stupid that you can challenge a meaningless 1st down spot, but not a 50 yard pass interference call on fourth down

The problem with challenging these types of calls is that sometimes they are judgment calls. Haden's call is clearly not a PI. But most of these calls aren't as cut and dry. But as I've said before Haden got away with one in the first Clown game. It was clearly PI in the endzone. But that shouldn't be challenged and the one today should be???? That's why they don't want it challenged.

This is exactly what I said last year as I walked out of Heinz Field after we beat the cheats, but the nfl gave them the w. How on God's green Earth do they expect me to continue putting one dime towards that? But, they keep doing it.

I still have my dimes

Chico, I agree with your post in principle. BUT, its has now come to be standard that you must beat both your opponent and the refs. It falls both ways. Not saying it is right or fair, but we could have won today, and other games, if we take care of OUR business. Sad, but true.

Other folks in the media are lighting up the officials too.

If we don't make the playoffs it won't be because of this game. NO is a good team and I didn't expect to win. We won't make the playoffs because we lost to Oakland and Denver.

All calls should be reviewable unless they were whistled dead.

Coach Mike Tomlin's situational game management and high stakes decision making are clearly costing the Steelers games.
Then there's Defensive game planning.
IMHO CMT has squandered a lot of talent with mediocre results.
In most cases out in the corporate world, he would be asked to clean out his desk and escorted to the front door by security.

Yeah I heard him make that statement. It couldn't have been more false. Despite the turnovers....the 2 PI calls on Haden the first one absolutely ridiculous.....those both led to gifted TD's for the Saints and we lost by 3 point. So to say it didn't effect the outcome of the game is like giving the officials a Free Pass.
