Gotta agree with this one. People who are not our age just do not seem to understand the hate for the Raiders. I still hate them even though they consistently suck. If I was in the cemetery where they planted Al Davis, I'd piss on his grave.
me too

Just because the Chargers were crushed didn't mean we would be too. I think we matched up well with that 49ers team. Besides we just should of never lost that game.

94 AFCCG. That charger game absolutely broke my heart, I was 13 at the time.
The play where Hastings ran the wrong way and Neil threw it to a Dallas CB covering no one cost us a chance to win super bowl vs. The Cowboys. But Dallas would have the ball again, and its not sure thing. That would be my pick.
My other choice would be Mendenhall's fumble in the super bowl.
O'Donnell's 2nd interception in SB XXX. The Cowboys' defense was toast. The Steelers offense had pushed them around the 2nd half like a shopping cart. If the Steelers get one first down, the Cowgirls are done. Their defenders looked like they wanted to be anywhere but on the field against that offensive line.
The punt return? That was nothing new. The real BS that game was the blocked FG and the illegal forward lateral on the return that gave the Cheats a 21-3 lead. When you lose 24-17, those were the winning points. Besides, Cowher shouldn't have even been going for the 49 yard FG anyway because Kris Brown was a disaster that year from 40+ out. So if you're talking just that championship game, that's the play you want back.
In all of history? There's two I would want back. Neil's pick in the 4th in SB 30 and Mendenhall's fumble in 45. Change those and you've got 8 Lombardis.
True dat. The Steelers-Raiders rivalry back in the 70s was like the Steelers-Ravens today, at least for me.
As much as the Chargers game hurt, we probably weren't going to beat the 9ers. Other than the 2 most mentioned, the pick 6 vs the Pack, the long pass completion by the Pack on 3rd down late in the game (perfect pass, Ike missed knocking it away by inches), and one that no one has mentioned, no one rushing Larry Seiple in 1972 vs Miami, and he deciding to take off, and and run deep into Steeler territory. We might have gotten the first one in 72 if not for that play.
But O"Donnell was such a system QB. All he has to do is pick his head up on the pick and look downfield. He has Corey Holliday (who was only playing because Mills got hurt) so wide open down the sideline he could've punted it for a completion.
