...is spend some cash and sign Kelechi Osemele. You kick the Ravens in the nuts & plug him in at LG for the rest of Ben's career. Forget about Beachum & Ramon Foster. Love those guys but Alejandro at LT will only get better. He's so underrated going into his second year. Munchak will turn that kid into a champ, that's my guess.

Back to guard, Colbert should go after Osemele, shock us all, give the guy some moolah. The kid's a 26 years old, top 5 guard in the game. Who the heck goes after high-priced interior linemen as their splash offseason signing? We do! ;) Show Ben some love and re-stock that O-line. If not Osemele, then do it in the draft.

Pro Football Focus ranks Osemele, a 6-foot-5, 335-pound guard/tackle, the No. 6 overall free agent and the best interior offensive lineman who could be on the open market. PFF isn't alone. SB Nation has Osemele No. 13 on its list of the top 100 free agents. NFL.com has Osemele No. 10, and says "If your team needs a run blocker, Osemele is easily the best name on the market." Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has Osemele at the fourth-best free agent available.

Kelechi Osemele expected to hit open market

Osemele is one of the league's best at his position, and just entering his prime too. That's a rarity at his position, so it's a given that he's will be one of the most-prized commodities in this year's edition of free agency. While we know that he'll have many suitors, predicting which team gets him is a lot harder.

He's very good, but I don't see us paying two guards top money. (Decastro)

He will command way too much money.

We have Munch who turns DE ps players into starters, pass.

We need to allocate our $ elsewhere. Returning 4 OL starters we just need to draft a guy to keep the cost down. If/when we bring in the FA OL it will be from the bargain bin and Munch will polish the turd up into a serviceable-good player.

I am more about fixing Blake's CB spot and SS.

I agree, but if Foster and Beachum walk, we have some holes on the OL, a huge one at LG. Of course, there's the draft... ;)

Weddle as a stop gap safety until a rookie we draft is ready.

I'd rather bring Allen back than sign Weddle. I don't get the fascination with the guy, he's old and has been on the decline for awhile now. He's not an upgrade, definitely not a stop gap...

Aside from DeAngelo, who was an anomaly and is younger football wise than his age, when do the Steelers ever bring in aging vets? It's usually the other way around that they're kicking them out the door themselves.

My prediction: We sign Patrick Robinson at corner, draft one in rd 1 or 2, and also attempt to sign Weddle.

My bold prediction is Amukamara

Also, don't be surprised if we sign a FA cb or safety and draft an OLB in rd 1. Jones stinks and James is 100 yrs old. And no, Chikillo isn't a starter. Sign a cb, draft Spence in rd, another cb in rd 2, safety in rd 3, guard in rd 4. May not even re-sgn Gay unless it's for cheap $$$. Rookie corner would sit behind Gay.

Don't see it happening but it would be sweet seeing him line up in the black and gold. Munch is one of our secret weapons be sweeter still seeing what he could do with a draft pick like spriggs from Indiana.

draft fuller and sign 1 of these stop gaps until fuller/grant are ready to start.
Smith KC top CB will command top dollar
Robinson seems like best stop gap option size wise cost, experience
Jenkins LA but heard he wants to get paid like Kareem Jackson so he may be out of the price range
Leon Hall good stop gp, already got his big pay day, good size will match up better on SE better size and tackling ability than blake and intangibles

My plan Gay 2 years 4. mill 1.5 SB, Boykin 2 years 3.5 mill 800 K SB and then to start opposite and compete vs Boykin [ Robinson/hall, Cromartie] any of these at a decdent cost. And Weddle 2 years 5 mill.

Depth chart
LCB Robinson/Hall/ Cromartie
RCB Gay
NB Boykin @ Golsen
DB Golsen/Grant
FS Mitchell Grant
SS Weddle Allen Rookie

Sounds good, but I highly doubt that the Steelers could sign Gay, Boykin, and Weddle for about the same price that they are paying Cortez. Usually FA are overpaided not the other way around.

Cortez will probably be released because he is overpaid and they can find someone much cheaper to put on IR every year.

cortex gets cut get, Weddle can't command the big money b/c age \2 durability concerns, Boyken b/c it took him long to learn the playbook, guys like robinson, hall age, cromartie mid range is at max but age and tackling ability vs him.
Gay has speed \2 age vs hiim.

So to before cap restructures we can do gay 2 years 4.2 mill 1.5 SB Weddle 2 years 5.35 mill boyken 2 years 4.75 mill he is age to command more Gay, and he could likely start at Blake's old spot, and draft wise at 25 Fuller or Apple, Apple will be what we expected Cortez to be when he got the extension, great speed, COD, very good pad level, will be worth in my eyes at 25 as, I think Fuller will go 5 -8 spots ahead. With Apple I think you will get a better Bryan Mcfadden.

weddle is looking at 8 milion a year just saying

I don't see them both walking.

I think they keep one and Gay...........

he is on crack if he thinks someone at his age and durability issues will give him 8, 5 tops. Then best option is bringing Allen back and drafting a young s like Neal/JosephDuke/bell/Bradberry

No way are we resigning boykin...keep dreaming

Leodis McKelvin released by bills, experienced decent size, about same speed as Blake if price is right instant upgrade.

Also a decent return man. He was at one time anyway.

Raiders signed Osemele for 5/60. McKelvin to the Eagles.

Broncos released TE Daniels .... interest?
