If Evans and Vander Esch are off the board, who do we take in round one?

Well, just about anyone can come in and put up 4.5-5+ ypc so, it isn't, really, that big of a deal.

damn. forgot about that.
maybe we should just sign Croissant to a larger contract and use him in the exact same way we use Bell?

You're hilarious.

VDE doesn't hold water to either of the SEC ILB's in the first round. We've gone over this MULTIPLE times - overall production OUTWEIGHS ONE YEAR of great stats from a small school prospect.

It amazes me that VDE is as high as he is - I like Dupree but you hated him during the draft process - VDE is Dupree II. I'd rather we take the proven commodity or drop back to the second and acquire more picks...

I guess you'd strike out all Kent State and Fort Valley State linebackers too. If you think about it, former great Steeler linebackers didn't exactly come from the SEC. We had some pro bowl linebackers from New Mexico, Pacific, and Colorado St too.

Dupree is an SEC 4 year starter and IMO an underachiever as a Professional. Vander Esch is like Dupree? You're hilarious!!!! Vander Esch is a smart player and good in coverage, Dupree, well he's not very smart or good in coverage, and I'm kind when I say that. But okay buddy, Vander Esch is Dupree II.

I get it; the SEC has its share of fans. But go no further than Jarvis Jones. Please tell me how his production in the SEC rated, and what type of pro he was. I felt Jones was a BUST, and so did lots of people here.

Living up here in the Mountain West area, I have seen a fair bit of LVE. This kid just looks like someone who WANTS TO PLAY. I would take a lesser player with heart EVERY TIME, but I don’t think he is a lesser player. Pair him with Watt, and they will feed off each other, guaranteed.

Thanks, can you give us more detail on how he plays?

Something tells me if Evans is not there, and we pass on Vander Esch, New England drafts him and he does very well.
