Let's hope Fichtner keeps that in mind as I think he will. We can get him the ball in space and see what he can do as all it takes is to get one guy to miss for a nice game / house run. I would guess him to be faster than BELL.

Samuels was used as a Tight End and Fullback in college.
I hope the Steelers utilize his strengths!

While he isn't quite the power runner Conner is to convert on short distances an should not be counted on to block anyone decent in pass protection, I think he will show better ball security, and be just as good if not better as a pass catcher. As a runner he'll get the yards he's supposed to,

I've been saying for years Pittsburgh is an easy place to run the ball. We got a powerful OL, and receivers that demand extra attention from the safeties, meaning there's more room to run.

7 catches for64yards,9.1 ( Average per catch ). That is good. It became tough to run with Dobbs at quarterback. I think he looked decent in his debut.

Make no mistake-Samuels and Conner at the end of he day are virtually the same. I said if before and will say it again-I always knew Conner would not hold up the whole season. He fumbled the game away vs the Browns, and after his next fumble clearly ran scared. Now do we all see the difference between Conner and Bell? And save your “**** Bell” responses. Your an idiot or blind if you don’t or didn’t think we need or needed him. Bell with Conner as the backup is the right formula. Known ******* fact. They should have worked harder to get it done. Special players need special circumstance come up with more guaranteed funds.

He looked great when he had some holes to run through and had some open field. He's got power and speed and needs more touches.

94 yards in his debut.

172 total yards today with two touchdowns.

I think he's working out very well, and MIGHT even prove to be an upgrade over Conner as his ball control looks better.

I did say he's better on mis direction, counter plays and draws. The coaches caught up with how to use him. And he did this vs New England.

How about having two backs to spell one another, keeping both fresh for long stretches into the season? And they both are cheap righ now!

That's the key, but he absolutely took advantage and was decisive and showed some really nice burst & wiggle. Looked confident out there. Seeing he was never really a true RB in college, I was really impressed with his running. NE's run defense is **** but whatever, we witnessed another coming out party today. James Washington made a couple nice plays too.
