I predict Samuels will have a good debut as the starting back

Samules impressed me with his touchdown catch, beating the defenders to the goal line.

While he isn't quite the power runner Conner is to convert on short distances an should not be counted on to block anyone decent in pass protection, I think he will show better ball security, and be just as good if not better as a pass catcher. As a runner he'll get the yards he's supposed to,

I've been saying for years Pittsburgh is an easy place to run the ball. We got a powerful OL, and receivers that demand extra attention from the safeties, meaning there's more room to run.

Go #38!

I hope he has a break-out game.

who was our leading rusher before Bell?

Actually we really don't know much about him yet. They said the same thing about Conner in regards to Bell until he hit the field.

Looking forward to seeing him in the passing game. Ridley will probs get alot of carries this game

I hope he gets used properly. We already know he looks good in black and gold.

One thing though is we still don't know if he will sign for VET minimum,

But this really is a complete different kind of player. He is more like a poor McCaffrey than a Conner (who excelled running the ball in college). Samuels is not a workhorse to carry the ball continuosly and I worry they try to use him that way because he doesn't have the strength.

I think Ridley may end up being the main runner and Samuels the receiving back.

I hope that is the case but mix it up some.................. J-Sam some first down plays also. Keep "D" guessing a little.

Are you kidding, what is this mix up you speak of...which ever one gets 100 yards first will be the new feature back and get 30 carries a game until the wheels fall off of them too. It's been that way for 10+ years, not going to change regardless of who has the title of OC.

15 carries for 57 yds sounds about right

They will use him differently....Kind of a slash type & yes Ridley will be getting about 7 carries. Relax guys, ****

10 carries, 800 yards, 10 tds

My opinion is that if the line can block holes Samuels will be the guy. He looks fast and decisive. But if the sledding is tough Ridley looks a lot more physical. Goalline I'm going Ridley.

I am a huge NC State fan and love JaySam but he is not an every down RB, he lacks the explosiveness or power to be a between the tackle runner and he is a great receiver. Think he is more a gadget player than a real running back.
