Seattle plays an execution defense. It's as simple as that. It's why Collingsworth made the point (more than once, I think) that they might just as well have yelled across the line of scrimmage and told Brady what defense they were in. Playing an execution defense can lead to trouble against great QBs...I personally think the defense has to vary things up against a great QB and at least put a little bit of doubt in the QB's mind as to what defense he is going to be facing from snap-to-snap. It worked for Seattle against Manning last year, but Seattle had a better front on D last year and they were able to just manhandle the Broncos O-line.
Our defense is low on talent, but I also believe Lebeau had slipped in terms of creating blitzes that could confuse a QB or break down a blocking scheme. At one point he was near the top in that category, but I'd rank him much closer to average based on the past 2 seasons.
Coryea, I know you want to blame everything on Worilds and Jarvis, but Lebeau used to create sacks for guys like Haggans and Gildon with his schemes --- we haven't seen much of that lately...
