I mean, I am not asking for us to have a known world beater for a backup QB, I am just asking why they continue to offer NOTHING but known horse **** at back up QB.
Who have we had at backup QB?
Landy Jones. The eye test reveals he is one of the worst backups in the entire NFL.
Bruce Gradkowski. Hasn't been healthy in years, and even if he was, he is just awful, but this is who they entered the preseason with. Brilliant.
Charlie Batch. Decent backup when he wasn't almost 40. But 40 year olds are not competent football players. Even the great Peyton Manning became terrible approaching 40.
Byron Leftwich. Seriously? His windup takes longer than boiling water.
Tommy Maddox. Had one decent year, and other than that was pretty much Landry Jones.
Kent Graham. Not called "Frankengraham" for nothing.
Apparently, this franchise thinks any breathing body will do at backup QB.
I, for one, am sick of it.
Even the Jets, after going through their #1 and #2 Qbs STILL have some POTENTIAL in TWO other young guys who could offer potential. We NEVER have ANY backup QBs who offer possible developmental potential. Why is that, exactly?
Does that seem like a wise way to go?
