My short answer, he has very good ability, and might be a pro bowl back.

Conner guy runs hard, has surprising speed ( 21.03 MPH ) faster than some WR's such as AJ Green and Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster for example. Source Next Gen Stats https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/top-plays/fastest-ball-carriers

Has good moves, breaks tackles, and has shown a pair of excellent hands. There is a lot to like, and when DeCastro and Gilbert come back, he should do even better.

I don't think Faneca is coming anytime soon.

Were there details on the severity of the injury? I read most hand fractures heal in 6-8 weeks.

Conner as impressive vs Cleveland and finished the game impressively on the ground vs Tampa. Behind lots of points, he didn't get enough chances to run the ball vs Kansas City.

Bro, Faneca hasn't been a Steeler since 2007 and has been retired since 2010. You are thinking of DeCastro. I guess they are both OGs and white.

I think JC could be a top 15 RB. Right now he is 7th most productive rushing RB, but some of the guys he's ahead of are probably better than he is, if we are being honest (Gordon, Howard, Hunt, Henry, etc.)

JC's production will be hindered from our horrid D, allowing too many points to give him enough carries (see KC game).

We are very lucky to have him, considering Bell's a hole moves. But, damn it, Tomlin, let some other backs have more carries.

Plus Big Red was LG, DeCastro is a RG. The played almost a decade apart genius.

I think you smart enough to know who I meant to say, but I could be wrong.

Once DeCastro's hand heals, the running game will be much improved.

Conner is doing it with 2 players out on the OL and the LT and C not exactly playing up to par.

Pro Bowl is a joke and means nothing.

Having said that, I'd be shocked if he broke into the top 10 RB by year end. I hope he hits #1.

You could see that Tampa had no fear of our running game.

with my help, he could be...

...the best

Pro Bowl, who knows but definitely maybe. I can easily see him with 1,200 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving in a year on average. This is really his first time getting first team reps and he is barely beyond being a rookie. His potential is definitely there.

How good can Conner be? Better than Toos-aint, I'll tell ya that.

Currently in YPC he is at 3.9. same as BELL last year average. In receiving he is quite a bit ahead of Mr.Bell's 7.7 VS James Conner's 9.3........... With the two OL due back in the line up and our OC appearing to settle into his role better, I see good things for JAMES CONNER. On the huge PLUS side, he is there and not imaginary.

You don’t have to think, you already know. But the interesting thing is you say you could be wrong but won’t admit your own wrong statement and enact a correction or retraction of your post on two occasions.

Conner has played decent so far, better than I would have anticipated. He can catch and he has better speed than Bell. That said, Take away his long run of 27 yards he went 14 carries for 34 yards. With Bell you could run the ball to protect a lead because he always gets the positive yards even if the long runs are not there. Without him we have almost blown 2 big leads due to lack of running game.

#4 in rushing attempts in the league. #7 in yards per game. 3.9 yds per carry.

He's an extremely bruising serviceable back who as this offense clicks will get bigger and bigger holes in respect to the passing game.

Who is this BELL and where is he?????

JAMES CONNER is the best running back on the roster.

I have to disagree. Bell definitely didn't always gain positive yards. His style either gets yards or it doesn't where a Conner style will get yards more times than not. With Bell, we have been pretty bad at short yardage situations, something you wouldn't think a team would deal with when they have the "best" RB in the NFL.
