Hoot Film - PIT vs. Tenn

just fast forwarding a bit. next few plays are more of the same. 54 is very active around the ball. 51 as well. 38 comes to the line for the first time I notice and gets planted.

44 makes a play in backfield so give credit here.

to an earlier question...yes, I see 42 get up field here pretty quick on one play to force a bad throw. Not sure if this the play you saw. I see him a couple times upfield. Trouble may be he goes too far upfield. When I coached, I used to tell kids if the outside guy wants to that far up field, take him all the way back and let him get ice cream at the stand. He ain't hurint nobody back there.

our ball. dobbs on a little bootleg wiht a nice toss to 81 for a first down. Nice catch but on the next play - outside run right - 81 loses his block and his man makes the tackle. next play, inside run and 81 looking for someone to block. noboyd there.

dobbs throws a duck next. his arm is hit though. Chucks doesn't keep him clean. that is on Chucks.

punt - 80 good position to contain return man. 81 and 38 make the play.

big pass across the middle by the ****. 31 had coverage all the way. He stumbled a little bit but he was beat out right.

We are in scrub time, but I notice Sutton (42) got whipped on a run play.

27 comes up with a big hit to stop a busted play.

42 not shoeing me anything right now.

I see 49 flashing near plays a few times, but I don't see him impacting plays. There is a difference. I know a lot of folks like 49, but he is flashing vs. scrubs and his impact on those plays may well be overstated He is a cut.

not much else on the next offensive series. Just Dobbs making plays by himself. Kid is an athlete and the INT isn't really on him. Everyting around him is a mess by this point in the game.

back to defense, I see a few plays at 49. He is there, but I don't see a huge impact. Just a guy. I know that will not be popular. We are in garbage time. 35 has a good PBU...37 a sack. 42 is no impact.

steelers get the ball back and run out the clock.

That is it foks. Onlyh I can take 40m of plays and turn them into a 6 hour review. Hope you enjoyed.

54 and 51 are winners tonight in my book. 38 (cam) was fine but not much his way.
Fieler was solid.
Burns played well but the question is the one play I mentioned on the coverage.

This was a good outing for the team - obviously. If you hung with me, you know I watch a lot of stuff that happens away from the b all. good stuff. The depth on the OL does not seem as strong as I want, but there is no cohesion. That is a huge for blocking schemes so I won't beat that too much.

y'all can back the beet truck up to my house all weekend! LOL.

Peace.

hoot, awesome stuff. might I suggest a super sonic dvr? you can watch games in 12-14 minutes. one of our former posters let us know about this

oh, I can watch faster. I just don't. I scroll forward and backwards several times on a play to see little tings like footwork and hand fighting and such. I haven't coached in a long time, but the I still watch film to see all 11 guys so it takes me a bit.

Nice work Hoot, well done. Seems the defense is a lot more comfortable in knowing their assignments and are starting to play without thinking too much. Should be a good year for that group

I can see numbers but jersey names are hard to pickup.

Kuntz is listed on roster as 99. The International TE also has 49.

The group is substantially faster. Part of that is players and part is confidence. Burns is playing better. Bush and Barron added speed. The guy that looks so very good this year so far is Edmunds. He is flying around. So, yea, I expect a much better defense this year.

oh, my bad. i went off of the roster on ESPN.com; i guess Kuntz changed his # at some point, recently. and i forgot that CSW had that #, too.

Coach would have watched the game and had full analysis 2 minutes into the first quarter. You're slippin', Hoot!!!

C'mon man. No way would cooch watch the game, it would be YouTube highlights. And no matter the play Davis sucks, not who he would have drafted.

SORRY HOOT, I THOUGHT FOR TONIGHT'S GAME

SORRY HOOT, I THOUGHT FOR TONIGHT'S GAME

If i get time over the weekend, I will look at tonights film then. I can't see the game live.

JSam looked good in last night's film session. I think he will be fine. The problem for backs behind second and third string olines is that the OL is just out of synch. Handing off double teams so one guy can get to the LB for example. Another is just the timing of the back hitting the hole. The hawgs gotta work as a single unit and that takes time. Hard for an RB to run behind it when it isn't.
