He is not a Steeler.

I always enjoy when people begin discussing the very beginning of Steeler Nation.

I found my way here accidentally in (I want to say 98 or 99.) I base it on when I was in Tahoe and that was just after I got out of teaching (Spring of 98). Indeed, my very first handle was SierraWig But as I think about it, I probably found the site the following year in the fall of 99. That's how I remember it. Could be off by a year.

Back in those days, you could easily be invited to "suck a glock" or "die in a fire."

And if you think folks are occasionally hard on Coach, you never saw the dialogs that went on with Baltimore Greg or Hank the Tank.

Great times. Literally the "Wild West" of SN history.

Me too.

Coolie mentioned Tres Rios...whatever happened to that guy?

You remember the spot? He'd get into heated arguments with people, and they'd finally put up a picture of a bottle that said "spot remover" on it. lol

My all-time favorite poster from back in the day was mrweneedaquarterback. You always knew where that guy was coming from.

Oh and now that I see the topseeder here, wanted to share this (A Tribe Called Quest):

Simple beat common to that era...and that second singer sounds like Eazy-E a little bit.

Brian Auger in the 70s. Oblivion Express was a good album. Lou Reed, Jeff Beck, George Duke. Some of Walter Becketts' songs after he left steely dan are underated. Liked some Frank Zappa stuff. One of the best greatest hits album was Patsy Cline, what a friggin voice. You'll hate this but Rubber Soul was a masterpiece.

"Shoot the dog and install field turf. " ah the good old days.

Coddled athlete syndrome

And Tomlin is the enabler. Not the first time we've seen him allow long leashes to players on Social Media.

They go their whole life practically with lenient punishment.
Once the real world hits and they see not everyone is afraid or fond of pro athletes. They don’t know how to react

Yep. I've read a lot of you have known one another for decades. What were the boards before this one?

"Red carpet treatment"

"When we go to the Super Bowl"

"I'm happy about this loss"

"Nice win!"

And you're going to tell me with a straight face this guy isn't a problem?

He wasn’t wrong about the fact the schedule changes increased risk exposure to injury.

Stop listening to MESPN & Florio. Listen to facts of being said.

No, he wasn't wrong challenging the schedule changes. But read my post again, and tell me where he didn't say one of those god-awful arrogant, self-serving ******* things.

And I don't listen to or watch ESPN or Florio. **** them both w/ a Red Hot Poker.

And this thread turned dismal/depressing. Time to liven it up with some songs from Coolie's favorite band :eyebrows:

ballless *******...

And this is obviously not the best vocal performance, but watching the video and catching some of the lyrics, it's kinda sad it's so relevant:
