If some of you would have listened to the video that Coolie posted, you would have heard Mike Tomlin not only defend Mason but he called out ESPN for their bullshit panel discussion on the subject. I'm no Mike Tomlin fan but what he just did was exactly what he needs to do as a Coach. Well done sir!

Good for Tomlin! Said exactly what needed to be said and said it eloquently and forcefully. Say what you want about other aspects of his coaching (and we all have), but not many can match him when it comes to sticking up for his players. There's definitely a bunch of reasons guys want to play for him. I suspect a lot of other NFL HCs would have just stayed quiet and not gotten involved.

Not sure that "many can match" him part is accurate. Most coaches would have done that. Most defend players that are 100% in the wrong. Rudolph is his player so I expect him to defend him... especially since nobody heard it and even the refs were standing right there. He has no reason to doubt Rudolph. I would have been disappointed if he didn't say anything.
