HC Mike Tomlin Releases Statement on Mason Ruldoph

Why shouldn't he comment on this? Let the world know he is behind Rudolph why not?

Sent from my moto g(7) power using Steeler Nation mobile app

DUH,

Why attempt to comment on what a liar said. We know it didn't happen. The Steelers were already fined enough. Mikey has a way of writing checks to the NFL.There is no upside for a comment, and you'd think Tomlin already backed Rudy in private. Boy your are stupid.

You attempt to comment because you can't just let someone slander your name on national TV, especially when it comes to Garrett's accusations. Tomlin made a very powerful statement and basically indicated it's unacceptable what Garrett is saying right now.

You would be right there talking **** if he didn't back Rudolph. No need to say it in private when a jackass is reporting **** publicly.

You combat it and shoot it down like a plethora of your retarded *** posts.

You basically are telling the world to not listen to Myles stupid *** ****.

Yeah Tomlin gets a gold star for sticking up for his guy... he shoulda called Garrett the criminal element in the nfl... even if Garrett tried to sue him it would be very hard to prove his actual assault on Rudolph wasn’t criminal lol

first if you are going to call someone stupid...don't **** it up with bad gramar

second, there is no downside to Tomlin publicly supporting his player. If the league doesn't like it, so ******* what, he and the team can afford any fine

i suspect there are just as many people out there that believe MG as people who believe MR. Tomlin's statement is valid given the **** MG is tossing out there. I would be there has been a call between GM's or even owners.

Tomlin had to say something and he did. Garrett is a low life criminal scum. He needs therapy. As has been discussed, if he had said it Garrett would have been screaming at him and even screaming on the bench about it. It was made up after the fact.

Also Ben gets 4 games for doing nothing and Garrett gets 6 games for almost knocking another football players brains out? Yea, that sounds fair.

First of all, get the headline correct. its SUPER BOWL WINNING HEAD COACH Mike Tomlin.

Obviously Tomlin disagrees with cooch's quiet approach, he was just on ESPN' s first take in a strong approach to defending Rudolph. Kudos to Tomlin for stepping up.

Also mentioned that they have no plans to bring in AB from a business standpoint and that Big Ben told him that he will be back. So there seemed to be a decent level of confidence there.

I give coaches props when deserved, again hats off to Tomlin for standing tall in face of the recent attack on Rudolph's character.

Asked him about the fine, "he got fined 50,000 for getting beat up."

Didn't take the time to turn on my tv to watch. Don't like the talking heads anyways. Glad to see Super Bowl Winning Head Coach Tomlin defend Rudolph. We know the N bomb didn't get dropped right in front of Pouncey in the manner Garrett is stating.

Mason's character is forever tainted. It's really unfortunate if he really didn't say that to Garrett. For HC Mike Tomlin, a well respected African American and voice in the the NFL, to back Mason says a ton to any doubters and Mason, himself. He could sit back and hopefully it fades away, but MG doubled down on the comment that leaves Mason having to defend himself again. Someone has to have Mason's back. That person is his Head Coach. Well done, Mr. Tomlin.

anyone who thinks Tomlin should not have come out in support of his qb is a ******* idiot

I don't know why anyone would think he shouldn't say anything. Mason is his guy and if he's being falsely accused, I would expect his to take up for him. Say what you want about him, but his players will run through a wall for their HC, because he has their backs.

*** why is all this **** happening to the steelers?? last few years we are like that pantywaist kid getting picked on in the school yard. time to sign Ndamukong Suh or some bad *** to start enforcing a little discipline on and off the field. you know it how goes... some jackass pop offs on tv about ben and everyone in the other lockeroom is like "dude wtf???? now pyscho jones is going to tear someones leg off now and beat somebody with it!" you didn't hear this **** when Harrison, Lambert, mean Joe and greg lloyd were patrolling the field. some of these jackasses need to be reminded they are playing the Pittsburgh ******* Steelers!!! every since lebeau and butler took over the defense its like watching a toothless old man eating soup. time to put to teeth back in the defense and some swagger back in the team!!!! teams fear us about as much as kids fear the easter bunny.

As much as I would love to see the nfl return to this kind of play...it is gone over the hills and far away. Rog would fine/suspend this team into submission faster than AB can make another twitter video.

Said it before, I'll say it again. 20 other players on the field plus the refs and no one else heard an N-bomb.

Good for Tomlin! Said exactly what needed to be said and said it eloquently and forcefully. Say what you want about other aspects of his coaching (and we all have), but not many can match him when it comes to sticking up for his players. There's definitely a bunch of reasons guys want to play for him. I suspect a lot of other NFL HCs would have just stayed quiet and not gotten involved.

"With Ben retiring we all need to get behind our new franchise QB"

What else he gonna say?

Props to Tomlin. The next move is for the Rooneys to come out and slap the Browns down and express regret that NFL reinstated Garrett to begin with. And I hope ESPN loses Monday Night Football.
