The seahawks don't even have the running back they had vs us anymore... Wilson is hot right now, but remember we probably should have won that game playing in their place... if we did have a rematch in the superbowl, that isn't going to be anything like a home game for Seattle... The other thing to remember is that while wilsons streak is admirable in any condition, its not like he is facing the best of the best out there... Minnesotsa is the only team they have faced with even an Ok pass defense and won, and Minnesota's defensive numbers are more based off of quality of opponents than actual playing style...
The thing is, looking at pure yardage doesn't exactly correlate to good defense or offense... situation and opponent dictate so much of that... yards per pass attempt are much better indicators... as such the average in the NFL is 7.3 yards per pass... a good defense gives up 7 or fewer... a great defense gives up less than 6.3... conversely a bad defense gives up between 7.5 and 7.6... a horrid one gives up 8.3 or more as such there are two great pass d's in the league right now... Denver and Carolina... and one horrendous one... new Orleans....
The good ones: Carolina, Denver, Cincinnati, NY Jets, Kansas City, Houston, Seattle, New England, Oakland, Buffalo, Arizona, Green Bay
The average: Philadelphia, Minnesota, St. Louis, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Tampa Bay
The Bad: Indianapolis, Detroit, NY Giants, Pittsburgh, Washington, San Diego, Miami, Tennessee, San Francisco, Cleveland, New Orleans
Seattles losses pretty much correlate to the better pass defenses in the league. If Seattle cant beat Arizona without honey badger this week... it bodes ill for them in the NFC playoffs, where green Bay, Arizona, and Carolina await.
The steelers performance vs those top pass d's is far better... While they lost to four of them... one (KC) was without Ben, in a second Ben was just back from a long injury layoff (cinci #1). Moreover they were able to pass effectively against both Seattle and the Patriots... and the second game vs Cinci they demolished them. They also crushed Denver and Arizona... In short this offense is incredibly good right now... more aligned with the Pats of the mid 2000's or early 00's rams... the defense isn't good but its playmaking, which has a history of working in the postseason of late.
