CB is solid right now, I wouldn't changed anything until needed. You asked if he's better than Gay, I honestly don't think I've seen Gay even give up a reception this year, I'm serious I don't remember his name being called once, he's been shut down solid.
Maybe Tomlin knows that Boykin won't be with the team in the coming years, and wants to get other guys that he likes reps. Maybe Boykin was brought here to give depth to what we already have.
