Has L. Bell shown up for camp yet?

Every single one of you will be jumping for joy every time he scores a touchdown. So tired of all the hate. Who really cares if he isn't there. It doesn't mean ****. He wasn't gonna play in preseason games. He didn't last year. Him and every player on that team are friends. He will fit right back in as soon as he gets there. He will show up in 2 weeks and practice for a few weeks. No one will even give two ***** about if he held out if he has 2500 all purpose yards. And it isn't like he's eating Doritos and playing Xbox. He's training his *** off in Florida. Hes in the best shape of his life. Stop acting like hypocrites. The NFL is a business. He's doing what his agent is telling him to do. He has no leverage so he's attempting to gain a little bit but it's really accomplishing nothing. Oh well. Hines held out and everyone still sucks his dick.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Steelerfan81 again.

I tell you why we want Bell in camp..

because enough with the distractions year to year.

And you want the guy banging in pads, trust me no workout in Florida will have you in sync with your O-line.

No workout in Florida will have your body getting acclimated to hitting and being hit again.

So say he gets back and pushes too hard and pulls a hamstring,

If you think the board is hard on him now, watch a nation of Steelers fans lose it in this event.

and more important a head coach that might be irritated from that outcome.

And just maybe the period of time he is out due to injury causes another year of not having home field advantage once again.

Count me in on the camp that thinks his *** should be in camp, and getting in sync with his teammates.

And really if your teammates have spoken on the subject, they really want your *** in camp too.

Will we be happy as a fan base whenever he comes? sure

But that doesn't mean we don't recognize the importance of him being in camp sooner than later.

Yep.

There is a world of difference in being physically conditioned and being in football shape. Plus being sharp mentally by practicing the plays is way better than just studying the play book.

The best part of Bell not being at training camp is, he can't get hurt. If he gets hurt on his own, that $12M goes back into the steelers pockets. There is no risk here, and he is a special talent, that doesn't need the reps. The only person this will hurt is Bryant. Everyone else on O knows what it's like to play with this guy, and it still won't be enough to throw this O off track.

If he comes back at all, it will be next weekend after the 2nd preseason game. If he comes back just before or after the 4th preseason game, I will be ecstatic. He'll be healthy and ready to roll. If the team wants to **** on him for a game or 2, that's fine too, it sure beats him missing early season time because he's a jackass or hurt.

Get him here healthy, and run the wheels off of him. Also when the game is on the line at the 2 yard line, I'm giving him the ball, not making a statement to put in Conners. Otherwise we would have lost the game against San Diego.

Oh and 81, I never sucked Ward dick, then again, I also never had a problem with his holdout either.

I think he has to be here by the first game if he's going to get paid at all, as per the CBA. That said, I'd sit him for the first few games 1) so he gets in football shape at practice and 2) since he can't play a full season anyway, I'd rather he played the second half and the playoffs. He goes on IR again this year, I don't even TRY to sign him next year. C-ya.

The guy isn't helping his cause at all. I could give two ***** what he's doing in South Florida. The entire TEAM is in Latrobe. He's not going to get a damn dime more than his 12 million ******* dollars. So his so called holdout is absolutely meaningless. I'm not feeling all that much empathy. This is the ****** part of pro sports I've really come to hate.

Bell isn't under contract so we cant trade him.

Or you have Conner and some other RBs splitting reps with him. To ease him in. And if his year stats dip because of it. Should have had that *** in camp then. Because he really has nothing to gain at this point. I think you gain more being in camp for all the reasons mentioned.

Now on letting his *** become a free agent next year? Hell no if you want his *** out trade him. Because he does come the ability to get back a nice return. Some stupid team would sell the farm. They have for less.

There is a lot of valid, passionate comments being made. SHOWS how passionate this board and STEELERS fans we have. I look at the game of football and a lot of things have changed. Rules of the game, players team or otherwise, but one thing that is still constant is that football is a team sport. The more team oriented the better the team. EACH player must contribute in a team fashion to be successful. Individuals performing with in the TEAM as individuals don't have much success, ask the bungles. I think Bell needs to report and show he is a team player. Right now it appears he is in it for himself. His contract talks broke down out of greed for himself. I don't blame him for wanting as much as he can get but there is a line that he way over crossed. NOW he is doing this hold out for himself in a selfish way. TEAM wins championships, not hold outs. Can he come in and NOT miss a beat......only time will tell but his chances are better if he is there. Everyone talks of him being such a special once in a lifetime player well don't you need to play to be a player......?????

Salute the nation

I was really disappointed him and the Steelers didnt come to an agreement. But Im not mad at Bell and neither should you. He isnt greedy or selfish either. Know why I have three letters for you. CTE. These guys have every right to ask and seek as much as they can because of those three letters. These guys are possibly cutting their lives short to play football and entertain us on Sundays. The Steelers are worth billions. They can afford to pay Bell what he asked. Thats not the issue. They offered him a deal with no guaranteed money after the first year. He didnt take it. In my eyes thats understandable. All players should be getting guaranteed contracts because of those three letters CTE. The NFL can afford it and they should be doing it. Players are damaging their brains to play football to entertain us. They deserve as much as they can get. So if the Steelers dont pay the best back in football what he thinks he is worth someone else will. And I say go get your cash young man. Get all you can. Cause if one day you cant walk, cant think straight or decide to take your own life like other sufferers of CTE at least your kids and their kids will be straight. Cause the game will go on.

I think any one of us would change places with them at a moments notice. I highly doubt they would agree to change places with a coal miner, plumber or convenience store clerk. I understand the CTE risk, but let's not act like they don't have a fantastic job compared to basically everyone else.

If there was a legit reason for the holdout maybe but this contract is set in stone so he needs to show up in camp and be with his teammates.

Computer guys get carpal tunnel. They should be paid WAY MORE! They are mortgaging their future to create software for our work and entertainment needs. It's a crime that they don't get gauranteed contracts.

If he signs his contract they can only move him up till the contract runs out which i am not sure when the season ends offically or they can just franchise him another year.

I only disagree that an offensive line needs him to get in sync with them. It doesn't matter if they make holes or not, Bell will make his yardage.

There should be no issue between him and his Oline that he has 2 years of experience with, and him being productive game 1.

Also, if you want to win games, you don't make an example out of your star RB by sitting him. Then you get the coach blame game when we lose game 1, because he was 'tough' and 'set an example'. Bullshit. The Anti-Tomlin crowd will be crawling out from under their rocks to point the finger on Tomlin, and blame him for sitting Bell, not supporting him for 'doing the right thing'. I'm not buying it. It's the NFL and wins are king, you play Bell and you win games. That is what makes the fans happy and hopeful for #7.

mixing in his reps isn't sitting him he still gets his touches

also you left out the in pads reps

which he isn't acclimated to this year...

Think of all the initial injuries suffered in the beginning of camp, and those players needed time to get over them. Hell some are still out. Every player has to get used to the physicality of the game.

Bell working out isn't getting hit. So he could very well go through the injuries that many players do in the beginning of camp.

And again it isn't a stretch of the imagination with his injury history.

If he has a minor acclimation injury i would rather it be now, over coming in at the last minute and getting one.

At least you aren't missing any important regular season game time.

Also I guess for Bell the Steelers aren't changing any of their plays for the season. Everything will be identical.

Signal stealing cheats will be happy to hear that.

Maybe maybe not ask Junior seau wife and kids family ..Maybe they feel different. And it would be different if the league didnt know. They knew and know and still wont guarantee deals. We can all agree its not like they cant. But its the players who are greedy

They offered to make him the highest paid running back in the league. So why I don't blame him for wanting as much as he can get, he is greedy as hell.

If he's playing on a franchise tag that's only good for one year at a time. Someone might take that deal, but I don't know. It''s a passing league now, RB's are making less money and WR's are making more. Bell catches a lot of passes which is why he wants to be paid WR money. Injury history might hurt his trade value, as we know he's only played one full season in four years. Me, I don't want to tie up a bunch of cap money on one guy who will probably only play in 8 to 12 games.

If Bell shows up the week before the 1st game, I sit his *** for at least the 1st game. Let the guys that practiced get the chance to play. Plus, Bell won't be in football shape and will probably get injured again.

Here's what I don't get, how does sitting out camp benefit anyone?
I've read the speculation that he is ripped training in S. Fla training, on his own, and will be ready day one. However I don't think that outweighs practicing with the team, and he could injure himself there as well.
If he shows up and signs, he gets 12 million. If he sits out the season (doubtful), he gets nothing.

Best I can come up with is that he's pouting because he didn't get what he wanted.

Fans may cheer when he scores that first TD, but I would expect a different reaction to him the first time he runs out the tunnel.

Ask any cop or soldier's family who was killed in the line of duty or commits suicide like Seau because they have PTSD.....all for 1/100th of the pay. At least Seau's family is set for life.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Connor can do. Hopefully he comes out like a ball of fire. That may change Bell's thought process a little.

I don't remember, how long did Ward hold out for? Just for comparison
