Harrison today

lulz this is rich. It doesn't matter what he was initially "told" every player knows nothing is guaranteed. But by all means keep on apologizing for his ******* behavior.

Yeah, I don’t get this mentality that “he was promised xxx,” so if the Steelers didn’t follow thru, they mistreated him. Since when is a player guaranteed anything, other than the compensation clearly stated in his contract?

LOL...I didn't know that teams could IR a healthy player....I'm sure Harrison would have let everyone know that he was healthy. And as far as cutting Harrison. About time they cut him if half the stuff being reported is true. The true meaning of how NOT to be a TEAM player. Regardless if he was promised one thing or not. You don't do what he did. He collected his pay check every week I'm sure e didn't give it back. In the end that is all the team owed him.

I think they could have suspended him, but they obviously were holding on to him as an insurance policy, until he became too big of a liability.

Compete and earn the playing time or shut up and collect your check. You don't get "Participation Playing Time" James.

I think there is something to debate..

Obviously you had a all time great Steeler with more in the tank, that if used correctly can be a very valuable asset..Now the Pats have the a player thats going to add value to their lwoB repuS push..

Personally..I blame Joey Porter for the mishandling of the potential Hall of Famer and lwoB repuS champion..

I blame Joey, too. Think he is jealous and didn't want James getting in. Fan favorite shoved out. Thanks Joey. Now find a job outside of the STEELERS org.

They see these guys at every practice and you think they're going to keep him sidelined if he's the better player? Please. On the *Patsies sorry defense he might be, on the Steelers he wasn't.

Holy ****! Now these are some babes that look cool in those shades.

No lie, didn't know they had glasses on until your post...

I used to see the nickname as a negative, used by posters early that didn't like Tomlin.

Now I think it's a great nickname, so if negative posters still try and use it, it lost its impact.

It's the best nickname in the division for sure:

Mike "Cool Shades" Tomlin
John "Blame the Refs" Harbaugh
Marvin "the Depressed Robot" Lewis
Hue "One-Win" Jackson

Bullshit, there were plenty of Anti-Cowher fans and even posters on this site that only referred to him as The Chin when they were complaining about him playing Martyball, Kordell Stewart, or after losing in the playoffs. But because that doesn't fit your agenda it must not have happened though, right? So a nick name is only offensive if you deem there to be negative connotation behind it. Peace, Love, and Puppies, the new America.

You’re correct about the chin. People forget about how much abuse he took around here. As you say, the multiple playoff loses. OMG who could forget losing the AFCC at home to the likes of Stan ******* Humphrey and Albert Papuno (spelling). They called him more than the chin. Yes the Martyball and his playing Kordell also go him plenty of ridicule.

Pay attention.......................... You need to pay attention........ The negative of "Cool Shades" has morphed into a positive of a nick name, "Coach Cool Shades". READ the entire post if you want to quote Cope. He says it was a negative at the start but now has turned positive, I could caption it but just scroll up if you want exact wording.

LOL, I can't believe this is still going. I know it's hard to believe, but it is very possible for someone to have a different opinion than someone else, cool shades isn't negative to everyone.

Well, to be fair, I don't think this site was around in '94. More like '97 or '98.

But that WAS sited as but one of Cowher's Epic fails for years around these parts. And 'the Chin' was certainly used in a derogatory sense.

I dont see how calling him The Chin has anything to do with saying he cant coach. I never took it as such always thought it had to do with him being fired up. My agenda what agenda. You want to make it about race not me if thats what you are referring too. I said it was a slight to his coaching. Thats what it started as and now its a cool thing if you say so.

Turned into a positive by who? By some? Not all for some its a slight and will always be. I dont have to quote his whole post. I know what he said.. oh cause its cool now its ok.

Yes i know that and i also know who using it to slight and who isnt. And im sure you do too.

I dont see how calling him The Chin has anything to do with saying he cant coach.

Yet you can clearly see how someone calling Tomlin "Cool Shades" instantly means he can't coach? Hypocritical much?
I never took it as such always thought it had to do with him being fired up.

So now you officially speak for everyone, since how YOU interpret it is how it must be for everyone? If a nickname for Cowher can't possibly be used as a negative connotation but a nickname for Tomlin is automatically a negative connotation or slight, again, hypocritical much?

You want to make it about race not me if thats what you are referring too. I said it was a slight to his coaching.

Show one place where I have brought up race as it relates to this discussion.
