Harrison today

Why do some of you here feel compelled to start with the name calling. It’s a difference of opinion on this and that’s fine. We don’t have to agree. You stated your point, I stated mine and that’s all there is to it.
You and I and everyone on this board have no idea of the inner working of this or any NFL team. All we do here is for the most part is speculate because we actually do not know how things work.

My point was and remains that Tomlin who happens to be the HC needs to be aware of what’s going on with his team and take corrective actions to fix it. I can only speculate, remember I’m speculating that Tomlin has the control to add and subtract players being that’s he’s the head coach.
I would also speculate that he talks with Colbert on such decisions and just feel as though poor judgement was made with the handling of the Harrison ordeal. As head coach Tomlin should not have promised the man 25% of the snaps and then not use the guys. When the man asked to be released then make a decision and let him move on.

On Porter we disagree again, but it’s ok, really it is.
I don’t think he really brings much as a coach but you obviously do, and neither of our opinions really matter now. He only has to please one man.

And what exaxtly makes you think Tomlin doesnt know or didnt know James Harrison was acting like a ***** since training camp?? I keep saying this was a damned if you do damned if you dont type situation. Do you give playing time to someone acting like a dick. Not only give playing create a new scheme to give him playing time because the reason he isnt playing is because you dont feel he can execute what you are asking your OLBs to do. What message is that sending to the rest of the team. To me the fact that he dealt with it all year and it never became a distraction to his team he should be commended.

You know what? That was a completely rational statement. You are right in regards to the unnecessary shot I took at you. My apologies.
As for the rest, we can agree to disagree to a certain extent.

P.S. Awhile back there used to be this guy named Vader that posted here. I blame him for the name calling .... lol

My friend seriously, I see folks on here getting their feathers ruffled about this and that but we are all very passionate about our team as we should be and we want them to be successful.

I think what we all should remember here, me included, is to respect the opinions of others and that it’s really ok to disagree. We are not always going to agree with each other but so what. Hell, I learn a lot from posters here and I’ve been following this organization for decades.

As long as we remember to be respectful of others here and of their opinions I think were cool and have a great site.

Please read my reply to Steel Buckeye. That’s my position. It simply comes down to ones opinion and we should respect each others.
It should not be about trying to prove who is right but more to folks just offering up their opinions.
I don’t work for the team and have zero knowledge of what goes on within the organization.None of us do.We have our opinions and thats what this board is all about. Neither of us is wrong. We’re just sharing our thoughts on the matter of Harrison. You see it one way I see it another. Thats ok!

Some people have their minds made up. You will not change it. Just how it is. I accept that. As you say not everyone will agree on everything. I agree with some people views on some topics and then other topics I disagree with them. As far as the "Cool shades" comment. I really don't think the poster thought anything about race when he added the word slur. It just is an old saying that at some times I chuckle at it myself and other times I get annoyed at it.

Ya know if that name bothers people it’s simple enough for me to just not use it. I really never gave it a thought same as when I would refer to Cowher as The Jaw.

I'm lost here...again.

What, why or when did "cool shades" become something bad ? I don't have a clue who started it but I do know how it got started.

I never liked it because it implied that he wasnt coaching just standing on the sidelines looking cool in his shades

"Cool Shades" is no more a slur than "The Chin" was a slur.

The Chin didnt imply one wasnt coaching

I doubt if you called Tomlin "Cool Shades" to his face he would think you were insulting him -- he'd probably laugh it off.

The Chin didnt imply one wasnt coaching

First it was: "Who the hell is this guy? We wanted Whiz!"
Then it was: "He's unqualified and only got the job because he's black."
Next: "He's only doing it with Cowher's players. When they're gone, you'll see how much he sucks."

In the meantime, the blank-eyed staring, cool shades wearing, bastahd had the nerve to rework the roster, never have a losing season, go to two Super Bowls, break numerous coaching records or come close to breaking others .... and have a team that is considered a SB contender almost every year (now with his own players) .... Hell, let 'em have "Cool Shades" or "Mikey" or whatever else it is they need. Don't think HCMT even cares

If i told him what it implied maybe he wouldnt

I can't remember if I ever used the term. Probably. But what he has accomplished, I was wrong for using it. As obviously he can coach and is good at it.

Not saying he doesn't have his flaws, who doesn't.

But he deserves respect for all he has accomplished, and hopefully he is about to expand his achievements in two weeks.

Sorry Mike T.

Geez! So I guess referring to Cowher as Jaw or Spit implies he has a massive jaw and spits when he speaks. Not really! He’s just a normal guy who when he got caught up in the game his jaw would jut out and the Spit went flying.
I’ve met him and he’s actually nothing like that.

Then Hoodie is an implication that Bill Belichick has no sense of fashion. Couldn’t be further from the truth. The guy away from the field actually dresses well.
A coach wearing sun glasses on the sideline is just that. A coach wearing sunglasses on the sidelines which in no way implies he’s just standing there doing nothing.
Cool Shades means the person looks cool in their shades.
I think much to do about nothing.

Neither does 'cool shades" unless you want it to mean that to fit your agenda. For someone that claims to not be a Tomlin supporter, you sure do take offense to anything pointed in his direction no matter how frivolous it may be.

Well, historically "Cool Shades" has been used in connection with the whole "blank eyed stare" thing to such an extent that the one brings to mind the other. And since the blank eyed stare thing DOES imply one isn't coaching/is an imbecile/is in over his head ....
But, eh, maybe that's just how "I" took it ... again, I'm of the opinion that HCMT wouldn't care what any of us on this board called him while sitting behind our keyboards.

At least own it. Dont sit here and try to spin it. At least own it. If you have used it you knew exactly what you were inferring. He looked cool in his shades and wasnt coaching.

And i never said i wasnt a supporter. I said i never said he was the greatest coach ever and never does anything wrong and any other dumb **** people come up with. I do think he is an good coach one of the best in the league today.
