Green to practice next week PPG

He also allegedly is who threw the party the night before the loss to SD in the AFCC game. He was very gifted, but not the most mature guy. He also let himself get too fat and wasn't as good as he could have been.

And again, that makes no sense. Put him on the third team or whatever but you get him practice on the field now. Makes zero sense for him not to be practicing now when he doesn't take up a roster spot and when he only has a 3 week window between coming off of PUP and being able to join the roster. There's no way he will be ready to play in 2 weeks since he hasn't practiced in any fashion since last year. Stupid move.

My understanding is they have 3 weeks from when he was eligible to come back and that is this week. The 3 week clock is ticking.

The Steelers go threw deep at TE already. Why take reps away from James Grimble and Johnson when he is NOT playing this week.

Actually, no, it isn't.
The benefit of placing a player on Reserve/PUP is that the player won't count against the 53-man roster limit. Teams have a six-week window (day after Week 6 to day after Week 11) during which the player can return to practice. If the player is not ready by then, the player either has to be released or moved to season-ending IR. Once a player returns to practice, teams have an extra three-week window before they have to activate the player to the 53-man roster (or release or IR him).

I was told that the Steelers are waiting for after the bye week to get Green back on the practice field. The reason for that has something to do with getting Landry Jones ready for the game Sunday against the Patriots.

There’s no reason to start the three-week clock on the return of Green if one week is being used to get the backup ready and the other is a bye week.

It makes sense now, right? At least that’s what the Steelers are thinking.

• It’s a pretty sure bet that if you talk to Jones for any amount of time, he will mention his faith in some regard.

I think the perception with Green is what adds to the angst.

Perception being that he may have misled the steelers about his concussions. The perception that the steelers screwed the pooch when they signed him and didn't do their homework. The perception that Green Is milking this thing, whether its for a later concussion pay day or not.
He was supposed to be ready for camp.

All of that is speculation. No one knows. It's sucks that he wasn't ready but we could sure use him if he is healthy now
 
Glad Green is going to start practicing. I hope he can crack the lineup soon so we can see what he can do. Read an article earlier that Grimble may be moving ahead of or closer to James. James lost snaps against NE and wasn't injured. Not sure what type of blocker Green is but if he has good speed going down the middle, that will be huge for the O.
