Game Notes

Tuitt, Harrison, Dupre and Timmons played with some highly need emotion. Special team coverage lacked . Nice first and second down yardage

Speaking of Bud...does it bother anyone else that the Bud Lite commercial says Black and Yellow?

Yes, me and the wife jumped on that right away.

Offense: They made it look easy on the first few drives, then seemed to stall unpurpose. No other issues here. Bell, Ben, and AB were great. The OL very solid, and the package with Hubbard and Nox really works when running it. One interception was not Ben's fault.

Defense: Matt Moore was a little too accurate before garbage time. 80.6% for the entire game. The pass coverage needs to do better, particularly in the middle. However, Shazier's interception made up for some mistakes.

The pass rush was good, and so was the run defense and tackling.

Having Tuitt back helps, and Hargrave is getting better ever game.

Harrison is still a force vs the run or as a pass rusher.

Special teams. We allowed one big return of 50+ yards and missed an extra point. Such mistakes could mean something in a close game. This unit must play better.

Typical coach post. The long return happened because of an obvious block in the back that wasn't called. The missed extra point was because of you're inconsistent swirling winds, they were going from 2 to 13mph in all different directions.

Matt Moore was 80%, but most of them were very short passes. Our D was game planned to keep the passes in front of them, and as it's been pointed out, they got a measly 6 points until the game was out of reach.

Bud Dupree is getting a lot of love. Good stuff. Lawrence Timmons with nice pressure towards the end. I was impressed by the defense

watching it again and it looks like the 1st timeout Ben calls in the 3rd quarter was Ayers fault, he lined up on the wrong side and the play clock was running out when he finally got set. This was right before he made the nice catch and quick move to get past the two guys between him and the 1st down marker before Rogers is flagged for a bullshit call

What bewilders me more than anything is, what was so different from Eli's block than Floyd's block for Edleman's score in the NE game last week?

That was NOT an illegal block, nor a crack back block as Simms said. Makes no sense......

Sent from my iPad using Steeler Nation mobile app

Well, that with the pats**** it was play of the day....with us...personal foul, lol. Simple as that.

Mitchell has had a really strong season and deserves much more respect from Steeler Nation tgan he seems to garner.

Huge credit to the O line....

Play calling on 2nd and 2 is pretty easy. That 2nd qtr Bell drive was absolutely domination on their part. Keeping Ben clean and helping Bell set the single game rushing record, and the way they helped 26 celebrate Bells last TD was awesome. They were on a mission today.

True, in the second half of the season he mellowed out and took less stupid penalties.

Walton played alot more than normal and played well

Hargrave is already a beast

We have a lot to be excited about on defense

I was just thinking this. No love for a run D that stuffed a team that ran over us for 200+ yards last time to 30-ish yards? Everything we did came from that. Great job from the DL and LBs.

The key for me is that they played pissed because of the regular season loss. I just hope that they don't relax against the Chiefs because we spanked them in the regular season.

Too much positivity in this thread. What the hell happened to the board I used to know? :wtf::wink:

Tomlin sucks, Porter is a drunk, Haley called ****** plays down the stretch that got Ben hurt, DuPree needs to quit leading with his helmet, Mitchell needs to quit knocking out our own guys, our punter sucked and oh, Tomlin sucks.:waving:

1. This team excells when they can change calls and protections at the line... at home this is easy to do... on the road they struggle... we will play in rather loud enviroments the rest of the way unless houston pulls off a miracle upset.
2. Leaving key players late in a decided game is a bad decision if you have players to sub for them. I dont care if every tewam does it... its still a stupid, idiotic risk... every play is a potential injury risk. if you ignore that you are a fool.
3. This coaching staff has shown the ability to play a team better their second time seeing them... lets hope it holds true the rest of the year...
4. If Mike Mitchell didnt go for the huge hit all the time he'd make more plays... he is a good playmaker when he isnt trying to blow up a guy, which leads to a lot of missed tackles and missed picks...
5. Levon Bell is shaping up to be the best steeler RB ever... His unique vision combined with size and speed is very hard to defend against. Couple that with his virtual WR abilities... Im usually pimping the idea f cutting loose RBs cause they are easily replaced, but he might be worth holding on to till he totally fades
6. Brown and Ben had a meh second half... but those plays that broke the game open were things of beauty.... I cant blame the staff for barely passing with a big lead, but turtleball vs better teams wont work and rythm passing games dont work passing a low% of the time.
7. Ayers penalty was BS
7B The noncall on ben getting tackled by the helmet was BS
7C The call on Dupree was ok, but a QB out of the pocket ought not to be protected
8. KC is goint to focus heavily on Bell... we need more than Brown to step up next week
9. Harrison is an utter and total beast
10. Im going to miss timmons if he leaves
11. for laughs go read the ravens 24/7 thread on the game... the salt is tangible there...
12. Im not sold on this secondary. They havent been really tested in a while... I constantly see guys open enough that I think better QBs would hit them... Prove me wrong guys....
