Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's.......@ Cheatriots......

First time I ever remember that Ben looked like one of the players lost. He has played bad before, but I can't remember seeing that dazed look in his eyes, like last night.
Worst play of the night had to be going for the FG at the one. Are you really going to beat Pats with FG's?

Agreed. You could see it in his eyes that he’s not looking forward to what’s coming his way this season....

Things I didn't like:

Defense
I saw Vince Williams in a pathetic attempt to cover a receiver 25 yards downfield.
I saw Chickillo on the field.
I saw patriot receivers running wide open on every play. Everything looked very, very easy for their offense.
The double pass trick play, and every little end around sweep worked well for them.
Brady stayed very clean and comfortable, not necessarily because our pass rush wasn't getting anywhere, but because someone was always wide open immediately. That gets you killed by the pats, every time.
Bud Dupree playing patty cake with a rookie in his first start.... pathetic.
Barron failed miserably doing what he what brought in to do... cover the middle.
Cam Heyward was not noticeable on the field at all.
Javon Hargrave, while he did have one good play where he got a great push into the backfield, was also shown being blocked by the center with no double-team. Completely unacceptable for a 3-4 nose. We need a Joel Steed or Casey Hampton, or we shouldn't be running a 3-4.
Our safeties looked really, really bad. I know, I know, there are plenty of excuses. I'm sure we couldn't have let Chickillo or Matekavic go to have an extra NFL safety on the roster....
The pats were smart enough to double team Watt. Imagine, making adjustments to neutralize a guy that hurts you. I'm sure the belichick and co. were chuckling about this one... "We'll double team Watt and block Dupree with an undrafted rookie... TomBut will never know what hit them! hahahaha!" I hope the rest of the league doesn't realize this...

Offense
Often they cheats had their entire defense within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage and within 1 yard of the tackle box, and we either ran Conner right into it for little or nothing, or threw a 1 or 2 yard pass.
We countered that bunch defense with our bunch formation, giving our receivers no room to work, and our RB no room to run. Ben has to release quickly to a guy that isn't or is barely open, or Connor gets stuffed. Put the ******* WRs on the outside. You know God damned well the Patriots will grab them and get away with it when they're in a crowd like that.
We use the 5 wide, empty backfield too much, when we don't have 5 true NFL WRs. Several times, we could have used the possible threat of running the ball to give a better chance at getting someone open. Play-action sure suckered our LBers and safeties, it could have helped at least a little versus a WELL COACHED team.
I'm afraid our WRs aren't very good at getting open downfield. If this is true, and they don't get better at it, we could be looking at a 5 win season. And Switzer just may end up with 100 catches for 325 yards.
We kept doing what didn't work, over and over and over. Ran the ball too much when it wasn't working, 2 yard pass to Switzer, throw a ******* bomb in disgust.
Drops!!!! You know who you are.
Washington takes an immediate right turn and runs out of bounds untouched after catching a deep pass for a sure TD. WTF???
Very next play, I think, Drop Boy drops another sure TD.
I know everyone loves Villanueva, but he looks very lumbering and slow out there. Please don't try to make him a "pull and lead-block" kind of guy. He's not quick enough. That's a job for a guard, IMO. Oh, wait, Ramon Foster is our LG. Never mind.

ST, coaching
Butler is still the DC. Obviously doesn't know what the **** he is doing.
Tomlin is still the HC. Obviously doesn't know what the **** he is doing.
Switzer is our return man? Is that the best we can do? Really? He may end the season with a 0.0 return average, but I guess he'll catch the damn ball.
Why didn't Tomlin throw the flag on that non-call P.I. on the first drive? Use the new rules to your advantage, CoachTard!
Just let Ben run the no huddle and call the plays. Then, if we're ever well ahead and burning the clock, send plays from the sideline.
I'm not as mad about the field goal down 20 as most seem to be. It was the first possession of the second half. Just get some ******* points, we weren't exactly lighting it up in short yardage situations. Shouldn't have gone 5 wide on 1st and goal from the 6.

I'm done wasting thought on a hopeless cause.
Fire Tomlin and Butler today. Come on Art, Tomlin needed fired after the 2013 season, and has never shown anything to make us think otherwise.

I came to a bad realization this morning. We should never, ever play the Pats early in the season.....ever.

Or why does it seem we've played them 5 out of the last 6 years, maybe it just seems that way.

If Miami were substituted, we would all be feeling better this morning with a 3 point win.

An embarrassing way to start a year, obviously

I think Washington went out because he thought there was going to be a BS PI call on him like the preseason. That was my initial thought when I saw the play. He caught it and looked back for a flag on the ground.

Here's a thought... How long do you suppose the P*ts have had a copy of Brown's playbook?

Each season for the last few years my interest in the Steelers and the NFLost, in general, wanes appreciably. I watched last night's game with complete indifference...so sad.

Just too much fuckery for me.

I do have to give one shout out to Tuitt, he really creamed Bud into the dirt on that one play, I laughed

I couldn't think of anything positive. For the first time in a long time, I turned the game off early. Sometime in the 3rd. O and D were pathetic.

I don't use any game against the *'s as a measuring tape for anything. You never know whether they are cheating or not. Seems as if they didn't have to last night. They knew where our D players were going to be even if our D players didn't.

As with Tape's thread. 4th and inches and 4th and 1, Snell not even in the backfield. The 4th and inches was way in your own end of the field, but you are getting beaten on D, you need to show them you came to play. It was 20-0 at that point, right? Both calls were terrible. Ben ought to be able to get you the inches one just following Pouncey.

I don't think I have ever seen a falling DB that isn't looking back at the ball, slap the WR arms and not be called for a PI. Even when the contact was less than what it was on Holton.

Looking at stats I can see that Bush had 11 tackles, 7 of them solo. Wanted to watch how he and Barron played. Don't recall seeing anything decent out of either. I can't imagine finding any replays to watch just to see these two.

Bud leads the team in sacks and TFL....let that sink in. Watt getting double teamed ought to have left something for Heyward, Tuitt or Hargrave to get past. Didn't really matter since TommyBoy could throw the ball to an open guy in .5 seconds.

I'm not worried yet for a couple of reasons:

1. We never beat Br*dy on his home turf. Never happened and it's never going to happen, obviously.
2. At home the Cheating Bastiges know what play we're going to run before we do.
3. Shades' teams always start out slow. If you expect the Steelers to win their first game of the season against any opponent, you're a fool. Remember they blew a 20 point lead to the worst team in the league last year and settled for a tie.

Now if we lose to Seattle at home this week, I'll start to worry.

There are a bunch of ******* on our defense and offense. Coaching staff included.

This ^^^

I have never seen a softer team. Soft. Get pushed around, no fight, no energy, no effort, watch the Patsies*** stomp on your lunch and pinch your girlfriend's *** and do nothing about type of soft.

Disgusting. Sickening. I turned off a Steelers game before it was over for the first time in my life, and I have been watching the Steelers since 1970. I would have turned it off earlier, but handed the remote to Moncrief and he dropped it.

Tomlin - go. Buttlick - go. Fichtner - go. Take Moncrief and Chickillo with you.

Does this team strike you, in any fashion, as one that threatens to win 12 games and punch an opponent in the face in the playoffs?!? I recall that 2005 team. That team would stomp your *** and take your wallet, and use the stolen credit card to score some points on defense.

This team? Toilet paper companies are going to advertise that their ****-wipers are softer than the Steelers. It won't be true, of course, but that's what the ad will say.

No, but I predicted 10-6 at best this year and some of the fanboys in the FB groups gave me **** about it.

The 2005 team also lost four games in a row in the middle of the season although they had the coaching and defense to rally back.

The division winners from the year before always play. This year we played them because we are playing the AFC east.

Bush was manhandled by the OL. Like all 3-4 ILB's he is going to get tons of tackles. Just like Timmons did when he was here. The problem is that he is getting them 10 yards down the field. I'm not sure he ever crossed the LOS. As soon as he went out there the pats**** ran right at him. When you put 2 DL out there he can't handle the rush from the OL. He's going to get steamrolled. But he will get a ton of tackles.

The entire organization should have to wipe there *** with a game ball all week

If the game is fun to watch, I watch. When the game is akin to watching somebody scratch my car, I turn it off.

The Steelers field goal was my sayonara last night.

**** that. 4th and like a foot early on is when it started for me. Sand in vag syndrome

The 2005 team also lost four games in a row in the middle of the season although they had the coaching and defense to rally back.

It was actually three in a row, and Ben's knee injury had a lot to do with that, Ron.

The Steelers went 2-0 with Batch. He gets hurt. Maddox is 3rd string, Steelers go 0-2 with him at QB, including one in OT, and then lose to the division champ Bungles 38-31 in Ben's first game back.

Think about what the 2019 Steelers would do if Ben was out four games. 0-4, almost certainly.

So the 2005 team lost games with a 3rd string QB. Okay. Most teams lose with a 3rd string QB, particularly Tommy Lawn Garbage.

For the past X years now. How big is Ben? That’s right Big Ben. But somehow this dude can’t get a yard with (day the talking heads) one of the bestO lines in the NFL with a push up the middle. Coaching *******
