FREE AGENCY - OLB or CB, Please!!

Yeah at this point I really don't care about "the way we usually do things". With us being this close to being a championship team, good positioning under the salary cap, and with our QB only a few years (at most) away from retirement, now is the time to pull the trigger on at least one outside free agent (but hopefully two - a CB and OLB) so we can focus purely on BPA in the draft

They need a pass rusher first before a CB. I'd like a big physical CB. But the aging of Harrison. The mediocrity of Moats and Jones. They need another Dupree

But NOT in the draft as they need a STARTER now.

Salute the nation

Larry Timmons had a great year. However they signed Williams to replace and they have a guy behind in Dirty Red. Timmons isn't coming back.

Bouchette said they are interested in signing Brown, but if his price is to high, they'll look to move him.
We'll what do they think is too high. He is gonna want to be the highest paid receiver. FOR ****** SURE. So you can forget anything else.

Ben may as well retire now if they can't sign Brown.

well in that case sign his brother Lawrence, he would look good in Black N Gold on a one year low cost contract.

Then so long, I wouldn't give him that much, I make him play out his final year then franchise him next year. He's going to be 29, not giving him a huge long term deal

I couldn't agree more.

The Browns have what $95M of cap room next season....they better sign him. They have no one else worth big money. If you're a FA that's just looking for a payday and easy money...go to Cleveland. I wouldn't be surprised if Jarvis Jones or Timmons end up a Brown.

But this is Money Ball. The Browns are not looking at winning for 2-3 more seasons and that means does 28 year old Pryor fit into those plans? They could re-sign him and definitely have the cap room but I feel they will try to stay at or under 26 maybe 27 year olds in free agency. Who knows. And again Pryor was very vocal about not liking the fact they kept losing. He definitely was not the cause as he played thru injury and was a lone bright spot on the offense. If they offer him 4 million and we offer 4 million who has the better shot at winning next year?

Jarvis maybe because of his age but I don't think there's much of a market for a 31 year old ILB.

If he doesn't we better find someone in the draft to replace him because Williams and Red sure aren't going to. That's 10 yrs. over !00 tackles and even if he lost a step he's probably at least a step faster than the other two. And I think they signed Williams as backup.

I think right now Williams is better than Timmons.

Love Timmons, and he played great, but he is a spot we need to upgrade, he is bad in coverage, plays great when he's attacking and playing down hill, but this is a passing league now.

Typically when the steelers go nickel, they take out the NT. If they keep Timmons for a reasonable contract, then i can see them taking Timmons off for the nickel. That would leave Hargrave out there as a pass rusher.

Draft the 6'-7" and 275 lb TE. Can't recall the school but get him. He is huge and catches TD's. We can probably get him in the 3rd.

Just can't count on Green to come back or be available for even close to an entire season with his obvious concussion issues.

I hope they use Jesse James more in the redzone next year. He's not going to be a deep threat, but JJ is 6'7 and had a vertical of 37.5 at the combine. Just throw it up to him in the endzone. I HATE the fade in the redzone unless you have somebody really tall. Then it makes sense. With a 6'7 TE who can jump, it makes a lot of sense.
