Not picking him up earlier this year was a huge mistake. We would have won at least one extra game guaranteed had we grabbed him.

Some folks would have had a heart attack if we had acquired Fournette.
Discipline problem in Jacksonville. Apparently other players hated him so much that they went to the F.O. and basically demanded he be gotten rid of.
Now, with all the worrying that goes on around here about "culture" and "tainting" or "influencing" other players, can you imagine if they had traded for this guy?
Oh, and apparently Fournette's issues were well known around the league. Which is why Jax couldn't even get a 6th or 7th rounder for him and had to release him.

Oh yeah. I know one of the scouts for the jags. That's a definite.

Did you hear his sob story yesterday during the game. How he cried for 2 days when he was cut,. And he was so very confused. He needed the veteran leadership of another guy on the team who was cut before,. To guide him, etc. And learn to accept his now limited role

Hard to say. They have way better offensive plan and frankly Ben has difficulty using backs. Conner could excel at that, but pretty limited. Brady isn't close to the best passer ever, but is the best QB ever and it isn't close. He manipulates the play according to what he sees better than any QB ever.

Bell was by far the best receiving back in the NFL while he was here.

Yes but a lot of that was him lining in slot. Ben is probably the worst screen QB I've ever seen.

Conner had 55 catches and only started 12 games in 2018 and Williams, had 40 catches and only started 10 games in 2015, neither guy lined up in the slot. Fournette with Brady had 36 catches this year and GB's starting RB had 47 catches with Rodgers, both those guys have legit OC's as well.

Terrible offensive game plans and attrition did this team in, not missing out on Fournette.

That's one thing very obvious with 3 of the 4 championship teams, they all have very good offensive minds at head coach, and the one defensive guy, McDermott, his team never really had a chance.

Interesting point. Over the past four year's, here's how that has looked:

NFC (7 offensive coaches, 1 defensive coach)
Matt LaFleur x2
Doug Pederson
Sean McVay
Sean Payton
Kyle Shanahan
Bruce Arians

Mike Zimmer - blown out 38-7 by the Eagles

AFC (4 offensive coaches, 4 defensive coaches)
Andy Reid x3
Doug Marrone

Bill Belichick x2 - technically a defensive-minded coach, he had Brady as his QB, which puts him in his own category

Mike Vrabel - kept it close, but KC pulled away in the 4th
Sean McDermott - blown out 38-24

FWIW, Tomlin's teams have allowed 129 points in their last 3 playoff games and it took a big comeback to even be competitive with the Jaguars. You've got guys like Reid, McVay, Shanahan, Payton, LaFleur running offenses and we had Randy Fichtner.

Nice, didn't look back at it like that, but makes sense, it's an offensive driven league right now.

.......wasted years of talented teams with crap coordinators. I still blame Tomlin and ultimately ownership for allowing this to go on so long.

Thats what I said a week ago. The league is offensive skewed. Get an offensive genius in here. You ca always get a good to very good DC. They are not soght after like OCs for HC jobs.

Agreed, but the HC will never let that happen.

I'm hoping that will happen after the HC is gone, which I hope is after next year. I believe this team is hopeless until Tomlin is gone. It will get ugly for a few years, but I would prefer that to this horseshit.

I like how you guys are all fawning over a player we never got, and never went after. It's worse than pining for an X girlfriend. You are pining for a girl that never had any interest in you!

Lolz...

Personally, I didn't have a big problem with the backs on the team. I thought the blocking was **** and the play calling worse. That said, I would like a back that can get you a yard almost no matter what.

the backs all have warts. Conner is OK but lacks speed and durability. Snell lacks vision and outside speed. jsam is pretty useless. I know ol and scheme lacked, but team needs a better back as well.

I didn’t think Fournette looked great In the Bucs games I watched this year. Which admittedly were not a lot. But I didn’t see a single thing that had me thinking I want him in Pittsburgh.

If I was Arians..

I would give him the ball similar to the way the Titans use Henry...

Fournette is a 25 carries - 160 yards capable type of back.
This would give the Bucs TOP advantage and well as open up Brady's play action passes, which he is the best at...

You guys against the Fournette pickup idea are not looking too bright right now...
