FordFairLane’s way too early and will piss off the board 2021 Mock Draft

Stats are deceptive or they just aren't fitting your narrative? Let us see what the rest of the season brings before stamping the team a conclusion.

I'll take having data and, idk, eyes backing up the fact that our OL hasn't blocked well this season. For all the window-licking talk you do you're really going to sit here and defend our OL and the scheme? Absolutely hilarious. You and Coach might have even more in common than you think, it's kinda cute. :cupcake:

but yeah slash and coach should just **** and get it over with...obviously they are infatuated with each other

So you can't go through a debate without being insulting? Cooch has earned his comments I see you are trying hard to compete. What's wrong didn't have enough to support your bullshit besides throwing crap my way twatwaffle? Yes the Oline has blocked well this season out if the gates they did. Individually at times just not a lot as a unit. I get you want to dismiss injuries and I showed where you were incorrect about your high draft spew. Individual posters have shown Dots good run blocking performance and Banners and that is without sifting through game tape. In the future if you want to debate with me try not to be a ******** just because you are losing the debate. If that is impossible then go **** yourself.

This draft is OL heavy in talent, so I land Kyle Trask or Zach WIlson who should be there in the late First round. Pick up a RB or OL in the second and third.

I would pick up an OL player in rounds 1 and 2, then a RB in round 3. Rounds 4-7 could be defense and a possible other Ol. Right now the OL is our weakest link - you fix that with upgrades in the draft and this team would be rolling. I know we have a lot of cap space to shed and that means people, but you can't win unless you have an offence. This offence is going nowhere with the personnel we have now, and next year they will be another year olderr. BTW, you also have to bring in another OL coach as Sarrett (SP?) sucks ***!!!

Coach said:
Even Coolie will tell you the bet was void by rules as Oliver was injured for too many games [\QUOTE]

Read this carefully.....if the bet was void, why were you banned for a month. Don’t hurt yourself thinking about it.

And the worst part was it was Coolie's option to void the bet over too many injuries, but he wasn't a ***** and let the bet stand, and still won!

I agree Supe. CB is a priority (both nickels are FAs and Haden is aging). Also Edge is a priority (little depth and Bud leaving via FA). I can see those positions going high. We also have to draft a TE that can be serviceable in the passing game but must first and foremost be a run blocker.

Cope, Supe, I’ll admit I haven’t looked at one pre-draft board published. 2020 will be the worse year for player evaluation since of the interruption by COVID. I’ve only watched some of the talking heads discuss “Heisman” players, etc. Lawerence, Fields, Trask and Wilson are all being floated 1st round talent, with none listed at the bottom third. Just a curiosity on my part, as I’ve watched several of his games, but (if he declares) what do you guys think about Mac Jones if he makes it to the bottom of the 1st? I know one year only starting, but he sure throws a beautiful deep ball. Better than any of the above 4 mentioned.

ANSPEAK:

1.30 DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama
I've been talking about OL since last year's draft, but Smith is a terrific prospect with excellent hands.

2.62 Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
Notre Dame pumps out good offensive lineman. I'm trusting that Eichenberg is the next in line.

3.94 Michael Carter, RB, UNC
Undersized at 5'8" and 199 lbs, but has over 1,000 yards the past two seasons. This year he ran for 1,245 yards with an 8.0 YPC. His career average is 6.6 YPC and he has 22 career TDs along with 82 career receptions.

This would be amassing and too good to be true!

You got that right! It's early and things change, but the Fanspeak felt the least realistic of the bunch.

Overall, it felt like if the Steelers wanted a top tackle they'd have to "reach" for a 2nd-round guy at the end of the first round. Running back value was hit and miss. The rankings on the interior OL prospects is all over the place.

O-line needs rebuilt...obviously.

I can defer to Supe since he lives in SEC territory and watches way more college ball than I do.

Not going to lie, I think I've seen only 1 game this year. Just doesn't feel right with Covid and College ball. I will break down film after the SB to prep for the draft. I just understand the needs of the Steelers team and where they need to invest draft capital to take care of those needs.

I will also add, I do not go RB in the first 3 rounds. No stud back is going to be a difference maker behind this OL. Time to rebuild it.

Here's a fire starter. Trade all your picks for Trevor Lawrence, and like coach said trade Ben and get some draft picks back. LOL Have at it!

lol, you're so hypocritical it's ridiculous. I'm only needling you because you're the most inflammatory person on this board and your arguments tend to amount to, "nO yOu'Re WrOnG".

You haven't disproven anything. You've stated that you disagree. Nothing wrong with that, but don't try to pass it off that you're dropping knowledge, lol.

I think you are the only person on this board trying to defend our OL scheme, which speaks to you trying to terraform the narrative just to be contrarian because you're not a fan of me or my posts. Like how if Coach made a post saying the sky was blue you'd be in the comments ******** on him and saying it's magenta or some ****. It's absolutely bonkers, lol.

We spent 5 high picks on OL before Munchak came. Our line still sucked and they all got immeasurably better when he was here. You keep arguing this straw man "bUt DoTs aNd CO aNd BaNnEr oH My!!" when I've repeatedly spoken to our scheme. From post 1 I mentioned that our players might be good, but that doesn't make the unit good.

3rd Kraig Urbik - Didn't do anything here, went on to start elsewhere.

1st Maurkice Pouncey - Everyone here considered him overrated and getting media attention due to reputation and the hype that surrounded him pre-draft. Got dominated by larger DL. Allowed 9 Sacks pre-Munch in 3 years (missed '13). Allowed 4 sacks in the 4 years with Munch (Missed '15).

2nd Marcus Gilbert - Allowed a lot of sacks and barely looked serviceable. Munch cut the sacks in half and he was a part of the best unit in the NFL for a time.

1st David Decastro - Was underwhelming until Munchak came and turned him into an All-Pro. Now everyone is claiming he has a phantom "injury" as an excuse for his poor play because they like the guy. Couldn't be that the line is poorly coached and the offensive system is trash, noooo...

2nd Mike Adams - Had worlds of potential. Was released before Munchak turned the system around.

Look, I like Munch as much as anybody but the Steelers rushing attack was ranked as follows with Munch as Oline Coach..

2013 27th
2014 16th
2015 16th
2016 14th
2017 20th

Not exactly setting the world on fire.

Zack like many of your posts you are way off base. But really don't feel like explaining it to you so you decipher everything. I will throw out a shortened version. I didn't defend the Oline on how they are performing right now. As far as cooch and you needling me. When he is a pompous dickead which is often I call him on it. When you are a ******** I will call you on it. So you can take your ***-esment of me and shove it up your ***. Nothing hypocritical I call it like it is if that ruffles your panties too bad.

You do realize DeCastro missed camp and game action due to a knee injury and missed another game due to an abdominal injury, right? Totally conceivable he isn't at 100% unless you think this former All Pro all of a sudden forgot how to block 2 years after his coach left and is just getting physically manhandled like he never has before.

Samuel screams Steelers pick to me as they love players with NFL bloodlines.

What is yinz go to film study sites this year?

Walter Football and then I'm gonna parrot some smart words and ****. Then I'm gonna act like it was all my idea and pat myself on the back in every thread possible. Sounds fun huh?

I've watched UNC a couple of times this year and I've come away impressed with Chazz Sarret, the linebacker that used to be a QB

Which also speaks to scheme?...We've never played to our strengths or the opponent's weaknesses, even when he was here. How many times do you remember us going into a game against "the worst rush D in football" and we come out throwing 239847238947 times?

We had much higher YPA in every season with him. The players all had better pass pro stats. Every pundit and fan touted them as the best OL in the NFL and that is why the narrative around the OL today is "they're the best, look how few times Ben has been sacked, **** the fact that he's leading the league in Time to Throw for the 2nd time in a row"

And for all the bitching y'all do about using stats, you sure do like to cherry pick a stat to try and frame the argument. OL play is maybe the biggest "eye test" position and it's purely gaslighting to pretend that the OL hasn't been trash compared to our run with Munch. I'm one of 50 posters on this site to have said this.

Whatever you say, big *****. And you don't have to imagine me in panties, you can just come out and ask. Like I said before, it's okay to love the D. :)

You're absolutely right, it is conceivable, but if he's hurt why isn't he on the injury report? Every other guy with bumps and bruises is on the report. I think it's more conceivable that the entire unit's drop-off coinciding with Munchak leaving means something. I think the fact that we keep running out of shotgun and 2-point stances means something.

looks like zach got jealous and might be fighting coach to see who gets banged by slash.......

I know you old boys like to stick together. Why can't it be a party? He's already got me in panties in his mind's eye. <3

Hey Zack go play with someone else. Now run along like a good little *****.

Munchak was great and our best assistant coach, but you just ignored DeCastro playing very well last year when Munchak wasn't here. Munchak is good and his loss hurt, but this line is more of a product of being another year older and less less talented. They downgraded at LG from Foster to Feiler and downgraded at RT from Feiler to Banner/Okorafor.
