What do the Steelers think about Bush? He's shown flashes but has still not proven himself to be a stud. If they could get a 3 down ILB next to him who can cover and also play the run, it could really make the defense scary. Zaven Collins or Bolton could let them play a 4-2-5 most of the time with Watt and Highsmith playing DE. If by some miracle Micah Parsons falls, they should run that card up there. Parsons would be a monster who could possibly play OLB or ILB in the 3-4. I can't see any way he lasts that long though.

Bolton just had a scary bad pro day. 3cone etc. Something to keep in mind.

that's one thing i'd like to see. a dominant defense. and that would require another LB. Spillane played admirably, and right now he's the penciled in starter next to Bush. Can he hold up an entire season? A guy like Bolton or even Moses next to Bush would give us a defense resembling Cowher's in the late 90s.

I notice that the mock draft sites now universally downplay Harris. You take him at pick 55, noted as a C+ selection. PFF draft I did, took Harris at 55, also marked C+. No idea why. Still think he is the best RB in the draft.

With all the love steelers showed Freiermuth at the pro day, i wanted to see how it pans out taking him in RD 1. I think this would be a damn good draft if it broke this way but I don't know if some of these guys would be available where i got them.

I think TE is a big need but OT is the biggest. With OT being so deep, they may be able to wait until rd 2 to get a good one. What that does is push off CB and RB. I ended up getting Carter in rd 3 and that would be a steal. There should still be some good CBs in rd 3 but take one there and you are likely not getting an upgrade at RB in this draft. Will there be a CB who can contribute as a rookie available in rd 4?

I feel like they have to get a OT and CB that can play immediately and getting a RB that can compete is also a need. I don't think they can get that RB later than 3. To me that makes the big decision on whether you think you can get a good CB in Rd 4. If you can then i think that means they can go TE or edge rusher in rd 1 or 2.

supe, i hear ya. we/ i still have that blueprint on my mind. Big D. Big run, adequate QB/passing. But this O line needs help. AND this run game. . IMO its bens final season, he wont do another. Give him protection and weapons, chips will fall where they may. (dont splash the pot)

I think it is nitpicking with his age. Najee Harris may not have the long term impact that an oline, but explain to me where there has been ANY kind of long term planning in this offseason. Probably the third chip push in the last three years. NO one who will be available will have as big of an immediate impact as Harris. He is my pick and he will be the pick.

When I say fix the offensive line, I mean FIX THE OFFENSIVE LINE. Oh, and get the best RB in the draft, as well as serious upgrade at CB, ILB, OLB, WR help as well.

If real drafts had offers to move down 7-8 spots like this site, remaking a team would be easy.

Wheeee, trades and trades and trades and trades!! Get the 2nd best DB in the draft, problem solved. Get a top-tier LT, problem solved as of 2022. Get a top-tier C, problem solved as of 2022. (Takes the youngin's a while to get it down.) Get an ILB to pair with Bush, problem solved. Get the OG to back up and take over for Decastro. Okay, fixing all those problems meant the RB issue was delayed. So sue me.

Here's where it gets interesting. I think Davis Mills needs a year just to get some more experience, but the dude is an excellent prospect. 6'4", 225 lbs., very good arm strength, ran a 4.66 40. (The reports of a 4.58 were wrong.) He did his pro-day in a drizzle in Palo Alto and despite the continuous rain, was delivering strikes.

Big kid, fast, good arm, works fine in adverse weather. Sign me the @#$% up.

First love the top half. Now just minor observations. Don't need a punter now that Berry is retained at least perhaps not a drafted one. I would have liked a pass rusher higher with those picks maybe a third pick there. Don't know much about Ambry and I get why you picked two corners but interested in what TEs where available there.

RB fixed; OL fixed, and I mean FIXED with a top-tier LT, a great interior offensive lineman who can handle C, one of the largest human beings ever to walk the earth in Faalele (dude would be the eligible lineman). So put Meinerz at C, Dotson at RG, Banner at RT, Faalele at TE, and dare teams to stop the run.

Quality WR, solid help in secondary, my new man-crush at QB and this draft makes the team dominant right now, right quick.

Oh, and the best college punter in the nation last year.

The TE pool sucks after Pitts, Freiermuth and Jordan. By the 6th round, the eligible guys are just not good enough to make the roster.

Berry signed a 1-year deal. Cut him, save cap room, and get a much better punter.

No trades, because the trade offers are ridiculously generous.

Etienne too skilled to pass up. OL addressed with two very good players. ILB who just ran a 4.52, an OLB who is not going to be there in the 6th round, a CB and WR the Steelers have interviewed. I like Jean-Charles, looked at some tape, think he will be a solid slot CB right away. Worked slot corner in college a lot. Excellent at tracking receivers without grabbing, making a play on the ball when it is in the air.

As to J. Robinson and the draft game having him available 6th round:

6'5", 263 lbs., 4.72 40, 34" vertical. Just on physical attributes alone, no way he makes it to pick 216.

This is it. My best draft. A draft that would be a combination of the 1970 and 1974 Steelers drafts. Franchise QB? Check. Top-level OT? Check. Superior C? Check. Elite RB? Check. OLB with supreme physical skills? Check. Two ILBer's to team with Bush? Check and check. Two CB's who the Steelers can ... look at the offensive line guys!
