Fire Fitchner....Promote Canada

So, you hate Fitchner too? '

Fitchner is a college coach... at least Butler is a bonafide NFL caliber assistant...

I sincerely hope all three coordinators are employed elsewhere next season.... Id rather Bradley run the D if he can call a 3/4... and I don’t see why he couldn’t, and Canada see if his collge chops translates to the pros... at ST, id justctrain a monkey to chew bubble gum and chatter incoherently... it would be a lateral move at worse...

I think there maybe a power struggle going on right now with Randy and Canada. I doubt none of the input from Canada is being used. this all will come out at some point.

Sure, if it's true. But what I saw today is Ben throw two picks at critical junctions of the game. What I've seen all season is Ben coming off of elbow surgery is not consistent or accurate with his deep balls. That may play into the whole short passing game and the fact that no offensive adjustments are made. Add in the drops and the **** run blocking and you have a stagnant offense.
It's interesting to me that while the team was winning, you were quiet about Tomlin's perceived failures. But, as soon as Ben starts his throwing INTs crap and we start losing, here you are, directing blame from the INTs and Ben's failures (yes, he has them too) and heaping all the blame on Tomlin.

Let me be clear, Tomlin needs to fire his OC. IF he's meddling in the offense, he needs to stop. IF no adjustments are being made during the game, he needs to start doing so.
Fitchner .. well, he needs to just be gone.
The OL needs to toughen up and block; whether it's the run game or when passing.
Ben needs to quite trying to force the ball to Johnson all the time, because right now it's about a 40% chance he'll catch the damn thing. Ben needs to quit deciding before the snap where he's going with the ball. And, IF he can still throw the ball in the intermediate or long range with any accuracy, he needs to start doing so.

The above are all things I've said multiple times. Didn't wait until we had a losing streak to come out and start deflecting blame from one player onto everyone else.

Oh horse ****.

Bens the only chance this offense in this current configuration has.
Yes the o line needs work. But so does our play calling and personnell sets.

Where the **** is derek watt? Where are mid range patterns? Ben is fine.

I hate watching this offense. Sooo many problems. Oline can't open any holes for the RBs, WRs/TEs dropping balls right and left, Ben's off target long throws, the predictability of all the dinking and dunking and that whole "throw short, run long" BS. No question in my mind that Finkner has to go. Actually I think I would get rid of the entire offensive staff at the end of the year with the possible exception of Canada who I don't think has gotten a fair shot at actually influencing the on-field product. Tomlin says they can fix the offense. Well the only shot he has at doing that is changing the play caller. Give Canada a shot at it and give Finkner a chance to polish his resume for his next job as JC QB coach.

I think so too. They were humming pretty good and being pretty creative the first 7-8 games of the season, and they just fall off a cliff? I understand the OL injuries & drops etc. but the designs and play-calling is mind-numbingly bad right now.

Fitchner deserves to be fired, no doubt. But for better or worse Ben will decide. It was Ben who threatened to retire if Haley wasn't canned and Ben who hand picked Fitchner and Arians to be the OC. The only OC picked for Ben in almost 10 years is Haley who Ben ran off (deservedly so)

Ben is the reason this team has remained relevant, but he has the front office by the short hairs with his ability to retire and its holding them back.

But you can't say it's not a trend all over professional sports right now-stars running too much of the show.

Fitchner will sadly stay until Ben says otherwise

Well then what we really need is someone who isn't looking to be buddies with everyone for a HC. We need someone who isn't a ***** and has input into all aspects of the game. Tomlin would rather be good friends with people than do his damn job. He doesn't do Xs and Os so you better find someone who can do it for him. That shouldn't be Ben's job.

P.S. it's already been said before that Tomlin has close relationships with all his coordinators. That is the reason they are still around, not cause Ben wants them there. Otherwise, Haley never would have been brought in.

Agreed, the front office needs to say love ya Ben and Tomlin but here is your new OC. If Ben retires that would be sad. We all know Tomlin and Ben have their jobs as long as they want them (as they should imo) what lacks is Art Rooney or Art Rooney II's leadership to get them from a good team to a championship team

I don't agree that it should be up to the Rooney's to make a decision on the OC. Tomlin does very little Xs and Os both pregame and in game. His job is to control the personnel of the team, if he can't even do that then he is the problem.

If the HC of an NFL team is not capable of hiring and firing his own staff then he should not be the HC of an NFL team.

The thing is neither Ben and Tomlin want him gone, that is the problem.

The Rooneys dont do it often, but it was the FO that forced Haley in, while he flamed out his philosophical changes to Ben's game and the offense are still there now and have prolonged Ben's career

Then you fire the coach and let the GM replace the Coach with someone that will bring in the right staff to be successful.

I realize this is just a discussion board, but we both know discussing/calling for Tomlin to be fired is as useless as pissing into the wind

That doesn't mean you shouldn't bring it up. People have no problem saying Ben sucks, he should retire, he should be benched.. that's the same thing, he isn't going anywhere either.

"Covered in napalm and lit on fire", thanks for the laugh on an otherwise ****-tastic morning (now afternoon for most of yinz).

Exactly over talked we know it isn't happening. 11 and 2 and a few want him fired. I hate his playoff record but firing someone who just gave you a Steeler win record is silly. Regardless if it is silly it not we know Rooney wouldn't can him.

That record is as worthless as his "never having a losing record." When all of his records and accolades brings a SB to fruition, then we can talk about whatever records he holds.

Mahomes threw 3 int's today yet they won.

Yeah, and they used intermediate and deep routes to do so. Something we don't do anymore. OH, and they had some semblance of a damn run game.

Chuck Noll didn’t want to replace Dungy, but they forced that on him... Also exactly who was responsible for erhardt in 95 Cowher or the Rooneys is debatable as well)... noll actually is suspected of retiring because he didn’t want the mandatory retool of his staff that was going to be forced in 92 if he stayed on....

Now Art tge copy is no Dan Rooney, but there is precedent for this....
