Fire Fitchner....Promote Canada

We threw for over 4,000 yards with Erhardt in 1995 when 4,000 was an accomplishment

Erhardt was removed as playcaller after a 3-4 start... he was basically fired nicely... chan gaily was the defacto OC that year and erhardt was forced into retirement after the season... and was extremely salty about it

Tomlin has no problem calling out the receivers....let see if he will turn that anger on his broken coordinator.

Let's be real for a moment, there's only so much they can do. The team can't run the ball and this isn't something you magically fix during the middle of the season. They also can't throw deep. I don't know if they can throw mid-range passes because they never try. Very easy for defenses to defended when all you do is throw short, but sadly that's all they can do consistently.

Serious question ... Do you blame Tomlin for Ben’s two interceptions tonight?

The second one was DPI.. Washington had inside position and while tge ball was underthrown, the defender pushed down on his shoulder for leverage and to keep him from making a play on the ball...

The first was just running the same bunch formation too much this year.. the db didn’t bite and made a play on the ball... that was more bens fault still... but we need better plays...

Maybe not, but there is no reason to think that things will get better with this leadership.

I want everyone to think back to last year when the offense was faltering exactly tge same way and everyone blamed it on Rudolph, a notorious deep ball passer in college, and duck, a more mid range guy... niether were The fault of the hideous dink and dunk... ben isn’t now... there is a common thread that is not a QB

The offensive scheme is bad. It is just bad. This crap started last year when Ben went down. The offense screams "Scared". I don't recall an NFL offense as bland as this.

Of course we can, we are playing the Bungles. Then it will suck again against the Colts and the Browns

WTF does that have to do with lack of adjustments? Or December collapses? Or inability to run the ball for 4 weeks? Do you blame Tomlin for any of that

Sure, if it's true. But what I saw today is Ben throw two picks at critical junctions of the game. What I've seen all season is Ben coming off of elbow surgery is not consistent or accurate with his deep balls. That may play into the whole short passing game and the fact that no offensive adjustments are made. Add in the drops and the **** run blocking and you have a stagnant offense.
It's interesting to me that while the team was winning, you were quiet about Tomlin's perceived failures. But, as soon as Ben starts his throwing INTs crap and we start losing, here you are, directing blame from the INTs and Ben's failures (yes, he has them too) and heaping all the blame on Tomlin.

Let me be clear, Tomlin needs to fire his OC. IF he's meddling in the offense, he needs to stop. IF no adjustments are being made during the game, he needs to start doing so.
Fitchner .. well, he needs to just be gone.
The OL needs to toughen up and block; whether it's the run game or when passing.
Ben needs to quite trying to force the ball to Johnson all the time, because right now it's about a 40% chance he'll catch the damn thing. Ben needs to quit deciding before the snap where he's going with the ball. And, IF he can still throw the ball in the intermediate or long range with any accuracy, he needs to start doing so.

The above are all things I've said multiple times. Didn't wait until we had a losing streak to come out and start deflecting blame from one player onto everyone else.

I mean, isn't this the issue? Put 9 in the box because run/short passing game. The way to beat that crap is the mid range passing. Get behind the LB's. WHen they stop dropping so many in the box, both the running game and the short passing game get better. Right now we are a one trick pony - short, short, short, short, short, bomb.

I actually do, and here is why. The coaching on the team is HORRENDOUS, Tomlin will not remove a OC that needs to be removed. As such Ben has taken it upon himself to try and win the game.

I partially agree with you on this. The OC is terrible. No imagination. No balls. Too easy to read what he's doing. He should have been fired or had his play calling abilities taken away weeks ago.
Where I disagree, and maybe this isn't with you exactly, is that the team is better off with Ben playing "Hero Ball". It doesn't work. Fire the OC. Give Canada a shot and let's see where that takes us. It couldn't be worse than this short passing **** show we're seeing now. And, yes, Tomlin is ultimately responsible for not firing Fitchner. Needs to happen NOW. Should have happened weeks ago.

Im trying to remember anyone as bad... Ray Sherman? I mean gilbride was great when he wasn’t trying to have kordell run his high concept offense... erhardt couldnt pass, but his run game was great... Arians deep game was impeccable... haley was more balanced

Mularkey was frustrating, but I don't think he was this bad.

I've been complaining about Tomlins lack of adjustments for years. I've said a thousand times, this team looks good when the game plan works, but as soon as **** doesn't work or the other team makes adjustments we don't know what to do. I never blamed Tomlin for Bens Ints, id like you to show me that.
The first pick the db jumped the route plain and simple. The second one watch that play over, he was looking left where the bunch set was, he came back right to Washington but was about to be hit and couldn't step into the throw, not to mention the ridiculous PI on that play.
Come on, you've been around here awhile, go back a few seasons, we're at Baltimore both offenses were sucking, it was like 7-6 game, Ben wanted to open the O up early in the second half, Tomlin post game said, both O'S were struggling and I was fine keeping it conservative, by the time went no huddle and opened **** up it was to late, eventhough Ben threw for nearly 200 in the 4th qtr. From that moment any fan should've known who's in charge, its not Ben, not the OC.

I never said you blamed Tomlin for Ben's INTs. I asked if you did.
Fitchner is the OC (hopefully only until the plane lands). This **** show is on him. It is also on Tomlin because he signs off on the game plan each week. They need to fix this **** as quickly as possible. That starts with removing Fitchner.
Also, if Ben is able to throw the intermediate and deep routes, they need to start working those in. I'm not dogging Ben. Just wondering whether there's still something off after the surgery. If so, it's pretty stupid to have him throwing the ball 40 - 50 times a game and just ignore the run game. That's not even an "in game" adjustment. It's an adjustment you make weekly.

Ben can make those throws. It's a matter of does Ben have time to make those throws.. and the answer is no. This OL is one of the worst I've seen for Steelers in a longgg time.

When Ben was 27 years old, we could get away with a ****** OL because Ben could move better and they could still run block. This line can't run or pass block, plain and simple.

Mularkey was frustrating, but I don't think he was this bad.

I'd take Todd Haley back in a heartbeat. This offense is so poorly coached right now it's mind-boggling. I don't want to hear that we can't run, we're one dimensional, Ben's shot etc. We were able to run the first quarter of the season. Was it magic? Have all of our OL suddenly suffered amnesia?

We're stale, vanilla, telegraphing what we're going to do, not even trying to use a FB we paid - it's ugly and heads need to roll.

What I don't understand is that it is obvious the league has caught up to this offense and is now sitting on the short routes. Why not come out in a max protect OLine and run the ball and go pla action deep to catch the defenses unaware, nah, run the same old **** rinse and repeat.

If Tomlin will let whoever the new OC is, run the offense, then yes Randy doesn't need a ticket back, but if Tomlin is going micro manage the OC than it doesn't matter who the OC is. I've been calling for more intermediate routes awhile as well this season. The TD to JuJu tonight, and the one vs the Ravens, those passes were on a rope and had a ton of zip on them. The issue im seeing is this line is pure trash, any time we don't throw it quick and short the line is getting beat. Tough situation, but we might have to start maybe sitting Ebron, using McDonald and Conner more with 3 wrs so we can max protect some like Buffalo did tonight to us

There are Some rules I have for Liking an OC

1. They should coach from the booth... sideline doesn’t give you all the angles and stills miss motion...
2. Tgey have to be able to first and foremost build a blocking scheme that works... Run plays and pass routes are great, but all of that dies if the line doesn’t work
3. They need to be able to use early game plays to set up late game plays.
4. They have to be able to add wrinkles throughout the season and game to keep defenses guessing
5. They have to be able to build an offense that can attack in multiple ways to best counter and attack defensive strengths and weaknesses while maximizing the offensive players strengths
6. They Must Design 3rd down Pass plays to Mostly exceed the 3rd down marker... not everything should be gained by yac
7. Use pass routes and motion to open plays up
8. Periodically add gimmick plays, but don’t overuse them...

How many times did collinsworth say that the Steelers don't use the play action? It's retarded. We also don't use FBs. But, at least we can't run a screen.
