Don't think Ray Rice will be defended anymore...

What gets me is the police had this video. This was a crime and he should have been punished as such. Even if his wife didn't want to press charges, this was not a he said, she said situation. They had this video. He assaulted her and at his size, he could have killed her. It is total BS that you can't prosecute someone when you have clear evidence even when the fiance' or wife won't press charges.

Agree. I wouldn't have been surprised if they let him plead to something lesser, but to drop all charges in this case seems bizarre.

So every time I fart in the elevator, it's being recorded?

Sounds like Rice has been bullshitting everyone...

I can tell you this: I had a brief text conversation with a Ravens player I've known for some time who told me that the locker room stood by Rice before. Now?

"I don't think he has very much support now at all," the player texted. "I think it's gone."

The player added that one reason the locker room stood behind Rice was that Rice gave them the impression that he was defending himself from her (as ridiculous as the notion is of a weaponless, petite woman being a threat to a pro athlete). The video, the player said, betrays what Rice told players.

Ray Rice released for a ***** slap

Ray Lewis a statue in front of the stadium for murder.

Yup typical Rats BS.

Holy **** wow. Just saw this. Strong move by the Ravens

Not a strong move. It was a move made only after they had been forced into a corner by the release of the video. Don't forget that Rice actually gave them a pretty accurate "blow by blow" of the incident, so what was on that video wasn't a surprise to them. What was a surprise was that TMZ got a copy of the video and released it. Otherwise they would have kept Rice on their squad knowing full well the extent of his actions.

Didn't Rice say that she attacked him in the elevator?

You can throw up pink all over yourself during the month of October and it means absolutely nothing. This incident was what finally tipped me over the edge. I refuse to give the NFL any more of my money. No games, no jerseys, no Sunday Ticket.

I'm sure like many other folks, that outrage will last until Thursday night kickoff. Not pointing you out in particular, just alot of folks say that stuff.....but they don't "mean" it.

I hear ya...

Goodell probably forced the rats' hand in this due to his monumental **** up. The NFL didn't see the video because they didn't want it to be seen.

Damn! Props to the Rats. I didn't think they would do something like that. Someone will pick him up, though.

League just followed up....******* late to the real verdict.. Goodell should have done this before the video...******* piece of ****.

All over 212..he's DONE...story not even on wire yet.

wonder if The Bruce could use a RB

Apparently that's what he told his teammates. There are reports on twitter that he actually gave the Ravens front office an accurate description of what the video would show.

The video means nothing to me. She was knocked out and drug out of the elevator, I did not need to see the video to know something bad happened in there and that it warranted way more than a 2 game suspension. Sensationalizing it does not change the fact she was knocked out.

Does anybody really theink that Rog the Dodge didn't know this video existed? Rog, please pick up the red phone....you have some 'splainin' to do.

Again who cares about the video ? We knew she was knocked unconscious by the thug so why the 2 game suspension ? did we think it was a love tap that knocked her unconscious ?

i'd guess the good ol boy network was in play.
goodell may have bought ray's story and ray may have (probably) lied about it

then there was the understanding that if video arose that there would be repercussions.

now mighty midget is suspended indefinitely.

Ravens show they are an organization with integrity. They've earned my respect.

It's NOT the video...it's that we're supposed to believe that Rog the Dodge didn't see it or know of its existence...and still only gave him 2 games after RR lied about what happened.

while I actually agree with you for once....until the video was released, rice and godell could hide behind the lie that "she attacked" him....the video proves that was bullshit.
