Don't think Ray Rice will be defended anymore...

The NFL's worst fears are now realized. The knee jerk hard-line policy after lightly suspending Rice for 2 games will now make the Rice suspension look trivial.

You also have to keep in mind that the league DID get a copy of the elevator footage and reviewed it before giving Ray Rice 2 games. This is inexcusable, and will have women up in arms, as well they should be. There even may be protests now at Raven's away games when Rice starts playing week 3.

Rice hits his woman, not once, but twice. It is sickening to see lack of restraint and hitting a woman with full force the second time. He's lucky he's not in jail, because that footage could have put him away with his now-wife's consent.

Do you promise to love, honor, and cherish. In sickness, and in health? Through blue eyes and black? As long as the money keeps rolling in? I Do... smh...

According to various writers...Schefter, King and the guy at Fox, the tape of the elevator footage was provided. However, the footage was NOT reviewed. Being, Rice turned himself in and the legal system started. The commish's decision was determined after Rice's plea deal with the DA and subsequent public apology.

I have a tough time thinking that the head of a league would not view all evidence regarding a key player and the punishment of that player. Especially since Goodell has a law degree. As a lawyer, you don't avoid looking at evidence because the case is closed. He has 32 owners to answer to, and I bet he did view it and knew full well what was on the elevator tape before levying a punishment.

Now here's the new issue that Goodell will have to deal with. The NFL and Goodell specifically, will be killed on social media this week. Since Goodell positioned himself as the judge/jury/executioner, this mess and public scrutiny is going to land squarely on his lap. All fingers will point toward him, and now his job is in jeopardy. So what's his defense? You saw the footage and decided to only levy a 2 game suspension? Outrage! You must be fired! The alternative: I didn't view that footage before suspending Ray Rice. Incompetence! How can you let that happen? How can you levy a suspension without viewing all of the footage. Fire him!!

If you ever wanted to get rid of Godell, this is the issue to get behind. Start the twitter war, here you go, I'll get you started: #FireGoodell

Listen, it's obvious you have almost as big a hard on for Ben as he did for little miss "Down To ****" that night. All evidence pointed to the fact that he did something with her, zero, let me repeat that so your slow witted ******* *** can get it, Z E R O pointed to it not being consensual. Now, I know she made a statement as such, but then, curiously, she refused to go down to the station, and refused to speak to any police on the phone afterwards. I don't know if you're familiar with the term "jackpot" or "gold digger" but one might say that's the typical behavior of someone who had dollar signs in mind.

If you don't like the legal system, then your beef is with the legal system. You tell me when a DA can get a grand jury to indict just about anyone, for anything, why our Millidgeville star DA didn't do it. (Hint, no mother ******* evidence).

Joe

The D.A. (who could have had his 15 minutes of fame, tv interviews, and a book deal if he prosecuted Big Ben) told the press that he "prosecutes crimes, not morals." That is all you need to know... A straight admission that Big Ben did nothing wrong except be a male idiot at a bar with low morals... like a lot of people on any other given weekend.

one time I wish I had a twitter account --- like the hashtag !!

Re: Ray Rice..AGAIN
He shouldn't go. He's not going to go and those of us who believed the truth months ago aren't any more disappointed. This is what I always thought happened. He hit her, she hit her head, she got knocked out. He has been dealt with by the police and the NFL. He has dealt w/her, her family and Raven's fans. He owes no more apologies. The NFL should have suspended him 6 games but they didn't. At this point, he needs to prove himself on and off the field but EVERYONE deserves a chance at redemption when they screw up in life. That includes all of us.

There were TONS of reports as to what happened and the apologists were saying "She looks passed out to me, not knocked out". All of the reports were saying she got hit with an upper cut and knocked out. Common sense has to play a part eventually. He does NOT need to go.

When and where did Rice EVER comment on the assault? The Ravens and Rice NEVER denied the reports of his hitting her which was another reason why I thought he was guilty.

here is the thread and the dude is fighting and adamant about keeping Rice and he is not guilty

That's soo ****** up, that piece of **** needs to be in jail. Hopefully karma comes back to him this season.

3:43 seconds in "It was her sorrority sisters idea to see the police, said she was too drunk to be back there with Ben"

4:21 seconds in "Police officer asks her directly "did he rape you" her response was "no"

4:28 in officer asks "did they have sex" she says "I'm not sure"

I can go though the whole thing, but if you can't see this thing was shaky as **** from the get go, then there isn't any help for ya.

Compare that to a nice, clear video of a dude dropping his girl with a left hook, and getting 2 games. If you don't see some really ****** up **** there, again, there is no reasoning with you.

These are women folks, I will just say her name is judy and she is 50 something with a daughter

Recognize alcohol fueled Bad decision
Let him have the one chance to make it right
If she cAn forgive him lets move on
He slips up again then he is done

Women today don't have respect for themselves. It is a sad to see this.

I remember a friend of mine telling me her husband hit her - I asked her if she talked to her mom and her mom told her to go home and live with it. THANK GOD She got out on her own -- she was stronger than her mom was !!

I was taught that a you can't teach an old dog new tricks ..... I wouldn't give a man the chance to man handle me !!

I just can't get enough, my wife said to check out wbal Facebook page. As most are against, there are so many women in Baltimore saying to let it go, drop it mad move along. Some even blaming her

That's because WBAL is Baltimore media, and the fan base is supporting their star player. I'd be certain the reaction is the polar opposite in any media outlet outside of Baltimore.

The only reason the wife is defending Rice is because she doesn't want to kill the golden goose. She's got a ring now. It happens again and Rice is suspended for 6 games and she can take half.

(Keep in mind people the suspension rules for domestic violence came out after the 2 game punishment for RR. He now has a clean slate and will only get a 6 game for his next bust up-which would be his first violation under the new rules).

Only ones defending him are women. I live in md and know the fan base and media. Dude is ONLY being defended by women

What sort of fine would be given to helmetless player X straight up punching helmetless player Y square in the face during a game? Take it a step further...what if player X punched Tom Brady square in the face because that's the same as hitting a woman.

Said player would be banned for life if he punched an official. Look at what happened to that Browns OL that got hit in the eye with a flag, he shoved the ref and took at least a year to be reinstated.

Money talks and money makes things disappear. I'm not re-hashing all this again. It's been done to death. Suffice to say, switch the uniforms on the two players and you and quite a few others are defending a different guy and demonizing the other.

He didnt just punch her, if you look closely he clearly spit on her before they got on the elevator.
If Goodell can punish players for mistakes who can punish him for his?
Rice should be suspended at least 8 games.

for someone not re-hashing you sure seem to be re-hashing

All I did was point out the NFL's unwillingness to take care of the trash within the league. It's not my fault people want to have a hissy fit any time St. Benny is mentioned.

WRONG. Ben was destroyed on here. We lost a lot more than a few posters and i know factually we lost a few fans because he remained on the team. I personally stripped every photo, jersey or paraphernalia with Ben on off my walls. I have a huge Steelers room. Had to explain to my young daughter at the time why daddy was taking a picture down of her, her dad and Ben from a golf coarse close by when he was following Gulbis. I did not even hang another jersey from Ben until last year. He had proving to do to me and many many fans. Ben's jersey was pulled off of shelves and endorsements lost. He was not defended until the FACTS came out of NOTHING happening. As a dad of a daughter, there is no father that would have let the courts or law have Ben Roethlisberger get away with rape if he really did. you would pursue every possible angle including physical. i would do the same with Ray Rice hitting my mom, sister, wife or daughter. Big difference, THAT father knew nothing truly happened and wanted it over and done with. and bullshit with money bought them away. You can follow her still, and she is no better off nor is her family. I cheered the next few years for the offense until the truth came out.

Rice is on TAPE twice, lied to the Ravens, NFL and Fans. Then had the Ravens PR staff right and broadcast a fluff piece of how good'a guy he was and involved in community. Never did it, all misunderstanding. Sat there apologized to everyone but his WIFE??? Had i been a Ravens fan, this guy would not be acknowledged by me either, would not cheer for him nor watch him play. Ravens have some face to save also, apparently both Ravens and NFL saw video 2 weeks ago. Ravens jumped in bed real quick with Ruth House, about 2 weeks ago. Ruth House is a battered woman & children organization in Baltimore. Almost as bad as doing you tour da bullying in Baltimore to swing up to Jersey for the fights

Color of skin or jersey has NOTHING to do with this guy being railroaded.

No, dipshit. You want to equate the two scenarios. There is no equation.

Rice: Evidence, testimony, admission, guilt.

Roethlisberger: Accusation, no evidence, no DNA, no charges, waffling testimony, no crime.

You can't compare a "crime" to an "accusation" that was later rescinded.

You're that dense?

If the Ray Rice knockout video is news to the NFL, things could change quickly http://wp.me/p14QSB-9z4x

Don't be shocked if NFL reopens Rice case. If they didn't see video and if he claimed there was no punch, they could take further action.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 51m
Ravens officials had not seen this Rice video prior to today but he had described actions in detail. Didn't "sugarcoat" it source said...

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 50m
So while the actual footage today was new to the Ravens visually, the description Rice gave them was in line with what the video displayed

Dan Wetzel ‏@DanWetzel 30m

Txt'ing with team officials around NFL, they predict Ravens will cut Ray Rice. "Have to." Not sure anyone would pick him up.

There's no way on Earth they'll cut Ray Rice.

Jeez. They may suspend him for 4 more games to save some face but they aren't going to cut him. It would be like cutting their right leg off.

All I did was point out the NFL's unwillingness to take care of the trash within the league. It's not my fault people want to have a hissy fit any time St. Benny is mentioned.

And what I see is more of the same kettle stirring that you always do. Let me see I know I can get people pissed off if I bring Ben up in this thread..so um yep thats what I am going to do..

wig, for the most part around here, they are calling for his release. Not saying fans run the team. Between all 3 TV stations and the 3 sports stations, EVERY caller, host or anchor is voicing displeasure and wants him out of town. Many have already gone down to the stadium in Baltimore and are starting to email the Ravens. There are a few, 50 or so defending this clown and from what i have seen and heard all but 3 are women. Cutting him would not surprise me at all. Modells and Champs is already said to be pulling all shirts and jerseys off the shelf. I know many that if they did not prior have chucked their jerseys today with 27 on the back.

The Baltimore News on ABC (they don't have Ravens broadcast rights) how they think the fans should be just as disappointed with them. They are saying that, the only video previously seen was what we all saw, HOWEVER the comments about Rice giving a very blow by blow detailed account of what happened that the Ravens were not too surprised by the video. So they KNEW it was to this extent. Now remember there is probably an angle with the new station but still they influence people. Don't sell tickets to game cause Rice is on team? Concessions down? Merchandise down...ect...

And to be honest, the fans are really going after Rice....still puzzles me how Ray Lewis still is such a god to these people
