Dobbins isn’t Zeke

Of course I wanted Dobbins ... Didn't happen. That said, I find it ironic that some of y'all are slammin the kid because he supposedly ran behind a great line. Which, as a Buckeye fan, I can tell you is nowhere near the fact. The Buckeye line last year was serviceable, but not "Great". I think the "Great Line" thing comes from some folks who watched him have good to great games against their college team and had to manufacture a reason as to why he was able to go off on their defense. That said, I don't watch Wisconsin that much; however, I believe historically their lines have been among the best in the B1G, if not the nation. Yet, I hear crickets about Taylor running behind a great line.

Anyway, Dobbins wasn't the pick. Claypool was. Welcome aboard Chase. I hope you have a long and HOF worthy career with the Steelers!

The Ohio State OL was good and the threat of Justin Fields on the RPO opens up a lot of things for Dobbins. That's a factor. I don't just look at production. Nebraska's I-Back used to always put up great rush numbers. Some of them were good backs and some of them were just average backs in a great situation.

Nobody has said Dobbins is bad, just that he's not special. He's like the RB version of Jalen Hurts to me. Why must i be impressed that Hurts put up big stats for Oklahoma? Everybody does. Similarly, any competent back puts up stats in the OSU scheme.

In 2018 with Haskins at QB, not a run threat, Dobbins only averaged 4.6 per carry. Mike Weber averaged 5.5.

I just don't think he's great, but he's in a great situation in Baltimore.

Lol, I don't think those two are close athletically. Barkley is a freak athlete, once in a generation type running back. I'll defer to Tape on this one, though.

Barkley is crazy athletic. I have never seen a RB his size with so much elusiveness. He can make so many guys miss. He's had to because Penn State's OL was pretty bad while he was there and it's horrible with the Giants. The fact Barkley was so productive behind such bad OL shows his skills. Giants finally drafted some OL. I'd like to see what he can do with some actual blocking.
