A lot of fake fans slobbering over the rats draft, dobbins ran behind a great line that created gaping running lanes. I’m a buckeye die hard and I’m here to tell you dobbins ain’t all that. He’s good but the way you guys are acting is like we missed on Zeke.

I viewed Dobbins as a good running back, but not a special running back. Never saw what all the fuss was about.

I like him, but that was then, the marriage is over. I think he will be a solid pro, but he is the enemy now and must be destroyed on the field. Steelers attack!

Wanted Taylor something fierce. After he was gone, not a RB worth taking with 49, IMO.

As a comparison, Claypool is a physical freak, a guy who can change what defenses have to do. If he develops into the X receiver, a guy who forces the CB to play off 6 yards and can get open deep, he makes the offense a lot better. I think Swift and Taylor were the two RB's I thought could be that good and make the offense a lot better, right now.

Dobbins? He is going to be the Rats' 3rd best RB, behind Jackson and Ingram. BFD. What defense spends time in game prep worried about the opposition's third-best running back? Yeah, none.

So BPA includes skill players, right?

There was no Zeke in this draft, or most drafts.
Love him or hate him Zeke is in the Barkley, Bell, class of back.
None of those in this class

Bullshit, there was one, his name is McFarland!!!!!

Also I only see Dobbins as a receiving threat out of the backfield. He will get good holes in Baltimore also, they have a great line.

Claypool has more upside and a greater need for us IMO. Nothing against Dobbins but their was a reason other RB’s were taken before him.

I agree than Dobbins is not a special back. That doesn't mean he won't be productive. Lots of RBs that aren't special can be productive in the right situation. I don't think Derek Henry is anything special but he's in an offense committed to his strengths so he does well. I don't think he'd do **** if he was on Detroit.

Taylor can be special because he is more elusive. His only issue is the fumbles. I like Helaire a lot. He should be a star in the KC offense which is perfect for his skillset. I liked Cam Akers more than Dobbins.

Ohio St line wasn't that great, Dobbins was a difference maker, and you saw the difference when he was not in the game. I am not crying for him, but to say he is average because we didn't draft him is funny.

I'll go on record and disagree about Dobbins. I think he would have been our 3 down back for the next 8 years. HOF'er? Who the hell knows. He hasn't played a snap yet but he does have everything you look for in a back. He is fast (4.4 speed or close to it). He can run with power inside. He has the speed and moves to get outside. He has the speed to break it. He can catch out of the backfield. He can block farely well. If it weren't going to be Claypool, I would have been ecstatic to get Dobbins.

After the fact one can make any staement they want. I wanted Dobbins but ultimately the STEELERS make that decision. After the fact, pushing down a player doesn't make sense other than showing the shallowness of the pusher. He's NOT a STEELERS player, get over it.

How many potential draftees that didn't get taken by your CHEATRIOTS do you come back and degrade ?

Salute the nation

Taylor and Denzel Mims were my guys.. Dobbins is good but not “special”. But he’ll be productive in Baltimore

hopefully having a healthy Tuitt and a angry Wormsley to go up vs the team that tought he was expendable will motivate him to blow up plays in the back field.

Claypool and Dobbins are both solid picks, it was simple for the Steelers, take the player that fills the bigger need. AB's gone so we needed a guy in the receiving corps who can stretch the field. You have to rank Claypool higher because of the impact he'll have on the offense, Dobbins right now would've been more of a luxury pick. And Claypool should open up the running game with the guys we have now, with Ben back along with a big target to throw to, defenses won't be able to stack the line like they did last year.

Then there is this...

Career
Rank Player Yards Years
1 Archie Griffin 5,589 1972 1973 1974 1975
2 J. K. Dobbins 4,459 2017 2018 2019
3 Ezekiel Elliott 3,961 2013 2014 2015
4 Eddie George 3,768 1992 1993 1994 1995
5 Tim Spencer 3,553 1979 1980 1981 1982
6 Beanie Wells 3,382 2006 2007 2008
7 Braxton Miller 3,314 2011 2012 2013 2015
8 J.T. Barrett 3,263 2014 2015 2016 2017
9 Keith Byars 3,200 1982 1983 1984 1985
10 Carlos Hyde 3,198 2010 2011 2012 2013

and this...

Single season
Rank Player Yards Year
1 J. K. Dobbins 2,003 2019
2 Eddie George 1,927 1995
3 Ezekiel Elliott 1,878 2014
4 Ezekiel Elliott 1,821 2015
5 Keith Byars 1,764 1984
6 Archie Griffin 1,695 1974
7 Beanie Wells 1,609 2007
8 Archie Griffin 1,577 1973
9 Tim Spencer 1,538 1982
10 Carlos Hyde 1,521 2013

That is some quite elite company Dobbins is in....

I think Conner could be a 3 down back too if he can stay healthy. I actually think Conner is better than Dobbins or at least similar. To me, Dobbins was not some great upgrade worth of that pick. I don’t feel he’s an upgrade for the Ravens either. He’ll probably deliver about what Ingram does.

the only RBs I would have wanted in rd 2 would be Taylor or Helaire. Taylor because I think he is a great RB that can create and make people miss. Helaire because he can be such a big part of the passing game and would have given the steelers another dimension.

Also, RB is not a position that needs to be drafted years in the future to develop. They can contribute as rookies, unlike WRs that do take time to learn a system. That’s why WR was the better pick. They need Claypool ready as a possible JuJu replacement for 21. If they need a RB next year, just draft one and play him immediately.

I'm over it now. This just means we'll get Najee Harris w/ the 1st round pick next year (1.32)...

Dobbins is Ingram's replacement next season..

Just one of the several very solid picks by the Ravens...

Of course I wanted Dobbins ... Didn't happen. That said, I find it ironic that some of y'all are slammin the kid because he supposedly ran behind a great line. Which, as a Buckeye fan, I can tell you is nowhere near the fact. The Buckeye line last year was serviceable, but not "Great". I think the "Great Line" thing comes from some folks who watched him have good to great games against their college team and had to manufacture a reason as to why he was able to go off on their defense. That said, I don't watch Wisconsin that much; however, I believe historically their lines have been among the best in the B1G, if not the nation. Yet, I hear crickets about Taylor running behind a great line.

Anyway, Dobbins wasn't the pick. Claypool was. Welcome aboard Chase. I hope you have a long and HOF worthy career with the Steelers!

Many compared Dobbins to Barkley. Not an exact comparison but close...

Lol, I don't think those two are close athletically. Barkley is a freak athlete, once in a generation type running back. I'll defer to Tape on this one, though.

Good player, but not the best investment. In that offense, you shouldn't need a top running back to succeed. Plug just about anyone back there and they'll produce. The Ravens could have found a player at another position here and invested in a backup running back later in the draft.

Nah you’re correct. Barkley has no peers athletically. He’s just a mutant. Bo Jackson is the only one who can compare in my opinion
