Divisional weekend

They do not think their DBs are capable of it, which is what Tomlin claimed was the issue in the Steelers last AFCC game against the Patriots.

The Steelers played almost exclusively man against the Patriots in Jesse James game, and Brady still carved them up.

I've always felt the key to beating the Patriots is to mix up coverages and get pressure with four rushers. It really doesn't matter what your doing if Brady is able to easily anticipate what a defense is doing.
I wouldn't say carved them up, he didn't even get 300 yards and his passer rating wasn't that great.
You have come after him, and you can't sit your DBs 20 yards off the LOS. SD is dropping their safeties so deep, so they just go underneath while they only rush 4 guys, they have to blitz him

So we beat the Pats...couldnt beat the Chargers...the Pats are carving up the Chargers...that makes me even madder that we aren’t in this year!!!

If you don't get into Brady's face and hit him you have no chance to win. Period. I don't care how good your offense is or how good your special teams are because Brady will kill you.

If he's comfortable in the pocket, it doesn't matter what you do in the secondary.

Brady is as alert and mechanically sound as any QB to ever play.

Well Belicheat realizes Rivers has no arm and can't move, so they are taking the middle of the field and easy passes away from him and coming after him.
We didn't come after him in the 2nd half and gave him all the easy passes he wanted trying to cover WRs with ILBs

It's almost like the Patriots have a good coach.

Not making the playoffs pissed me off in general. No way shape or form should that be acceptable.

And I have no confidence that any significant changes will be made.

They will keep bringing the ****** decisions, because that is what they show year to year.

I am trying not to even get excited for free agency because even with that extra money they will find a way to either **** it up with AB, or they will keep with their bottom barrel free agency approach thinking all they need is to fill a hole with a slightly better player than what played there, the year prior.

These team needs FS,ILB,OLB,WR, and P-K upgrades.

How many actually get upgraded?

If this has shown us anything....you can't play a Zone Coverage Scheme vs Brady!

Man up or get your *** handed to you!

You have to make him uncomfortable by blitzing off the edge, up the middle and anywhere you can. You can't sit back 90% of the time. he'll pick you apart. You've got to pressure him and get in his WRs back pocket. If you can't do that then you have no chance. Playing deep safeties, 10 yard cushions, and zone while rushing 4 won't cut it. It's ******* horrible to watch this ****. There is only ONE way to beat Brady.

And the same ****** defensive scheme.

It's almost like the Patriots have a good coach.

It doesn't hurt that they barely ever get called on anything, but their opposing teams do.

I also would put money on it that they are still stealing signals. Ernie earning that pay check.

I don't put anything past them.

Exactly. Not much carving at all.

Brady only had 1 touchdown in the Jesse James game, with a pick, and his 87.6 passer rating was his lowest against the Steelers since 2004. I thought Tomlin came out with a good game plan that day for a change, they should've won the game, and I was encouraged about them meeting New England again in the playoffs.

That never happened, of course, because the Steelers couldn't get past Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars at home.

KC, even though they are at home, better be ready for these *******. I have a bad feeling that NE is gonna go into Arrowhead and destroy the Chiefs.

Too bad our HC was thinking about meeting them again as well....

After a 13-3 season, I just kind of assumed it was inevitable.

But it isn't my job to have the Steelers prepared for each and every opponent, and to not look past heavy underdogs. It's Mikey's responsibility...and he failed miserably yet again in Oakland this season.

Thank goodness KC won this week so NE has to go on the road. SD is weak as Hell, the chicken **** game plan didn't help either. I don't get why every year teams play so scared against them? Especially this group? It's a joke.

The Patriots still scored 27 points and the Steelers could not stop them when they had to late in the game, largely because Tomlin/Butler left poor Sean Davis by himself on Gronkowski all game.

The performance against the Patriots this season was a lot better, largely because they were able to take away the middle of the field.
