Ding Dong the ***** is dead!!!

In the history of sports I have never seen cheaters get so much love outside of the asterisk candlebox.

Not to drive this too far away from the sports spectrum, but it's exactly like watching the mainstream media talk about the Clintons or Democrats in general. All sins denied or brushed away and fawning over everything they do. Just like the sports media treats the *Pats.

Just notice Brady won’t take a home town discount... pay up NE.

Create a bidding war and then trade him, which they will probably do to get multiple draft picks and rebuild.

This is gonna be fun to watch with another QB not as feared or not as composed

Brady would never sign a contract without a no trade clause.

very mediocre, and took down those bums patriots to be truthful the dink and dunk method the have been using all these years have finally caught with the Patriots.

yep!!!!!!!!!

Cant dink and dunk with out Gronk, Pats had to play some man on man football and Derek Henry killed them for 182 yards.

It would be like someone gloating over the Steeler's corpse in the early '80s. I'm reminded of Al Davis' comments after the beatdown of the Steelers in the '83 playoffs:

https://www.nytimes.com/1984/01/02/sports/bradshaw-ponders-his-future.html

"Over in the Raiders' locker room, Al Davis, their managing general partner, talked about how the Steelers were not the same team that won four Super Bowl titles in a span of six seasons.

''They're just not what they used to be,'' Davis said, ''I know No. 12 didn't play, but it wouldn't have mattered. Bradshaw was the most productive quarterback of my time, but we've been able to do O.K. with him. The big thing is that their cast isn't the same. Franco Harris isn't what he was, John Stallworth isn't, Jack Lambert is still there, but he doesn't have those same four guys in front of him now.''

The Pats just aren't what they used to be. The time to have taken cathartic value would have been in that AFCCG we lost to them. They won 6 SBs and probably felt like they should have won 9. The Steelers won 1 with Tomlin and half the fanbase crows about him never having a losing season.

If you want to compare Tannehill last night only, then yes he was right there with Duck or Rudolph, but Tannehill started 10 games for Tennessee, in those 10 games he had a QB rating of 117, with their season in the line in weeks 16 and 17 he had QB rating of 130+. So stop comparing our QBs to him this season. He's not a great QB, but I bet if we had him at QB we'd be in the playoffs.

Tanehill was 8 of 15 for 72 yards. 1 TD and 1Int. He wasn't light years ahead of Duck or Rudolph. I swear I dont know what some of you even watch.
I was talking about the season whole body of work. Why would I glue in on one game? I can decipher what I watch just fine.

The int was horrible, but there was no need for him to throw a ton with the way they were running the ball

I don't think Tomlin values the QB position.

He did have that clutch throw for a first down late. But yeah he didn't need to do too much with the way the running game was managing the game. Henry was in his version of beast mode.

Bullcrap... After the bungles nailed them the league probably put a nix on how much they could get away with... all tge great dynasties had a glut of hof players... the Pats had a handful over 20 years... they don’t win with talent... they win with schemes... mostly schemes to steal plays and abuse that in games... teams caught on and security was heightened, and suddenly they were less effective...

I hope Marsha sticks around for a couple more years. He was so spotty and ineffective the last two seasons that he is actually a liability now.

How can anybody compare Tannehil, who has been a starting QB for 7 years and played 100 NFL games to Rudolph and Duck?

First year as starter
Tannehill- 16 games- 58% 205 yards per game, 12 TD 13 INT, 76.1 rating
Rudolph - 10 games- 62% 178 yards per game, 13 TD 9 INT, 82.0 rating

My wife just asked, what's so funny?

What did you say? That's sometimes difficult, especially where you and your wife might be...like at a funeral. ;)

I was just talking to the gang on the Steeler board....sometimes doesn't go over well....not well at all. :brick:

Tannehill as a rookie isn't playing for Tennessee. Someone said the only difference between the two teams is Henry.

Let's be clear. The Titans were in the playoffs because of the Steelers QB injuries, inept coaching losing to the Jets and the Ravens backups and the schedule. They would have lost their last three games if not for the Texans situation. They are not a good team. Just a better coach.

"They are not a good team"

Okay? Neither are the Steelers. And as "bad" as the Titans are, at least they were "less bad" enough to actually get into the playoffs.

"Just a better coach"

and at the pro level, coaching can make all the difference in the world. Sucks that our team is at such a disadvantage in that department.

Lets also point out that rudolphs yards per game was drastically affected by playing a ton of partial games... he relieved ben for a half, left the ravens game after a half, got pulled in the Cinci game after a half, and relieved duck for a couple of series in the jets game... his yards average looks a lot better comparing yards per quarters than yards per appearances...

They really need a yards per drive stat...

Teddy Bridgewater was a giant bust in everyones eyes then suddenly he is a great option... Tannehill was a zero, and now he is solid... Darnold was getting torn apart early but by seasons end he looked fine... turns out that the oldtimers adage that a qb should never start before their second contract is true for a lot of qbs...
sure you can rush them out there, but even if they are successful they aren’t optimized as passers for years....
People expect every dude to either be. Russel Wilson or Ben or they are a bust... the truth is most just take time, experience, and tutelage to get there...

That was pretty much my point. They had a better running back, better than duck QBing and better coach. But they backed into the playoffs with two losses and a rollover. They are not good. If the Steelers would have made the playoffs and played a healthy Rudolph they could have done the same thing. Oh wait they still have Tomlin coaching.

Some good points which backs my point that a vet QB is needed in free agency. Tombert can you hear me? Can you hear me running can you hear me calling you?

Rudolph wasn't showing he could handle pressure. Steelers rushing attack isn't even close to being as good as the Titans. Healthy or not they showed nothing to think they could have won a playoff game. From offensive offense to below the line coaching. Maybe Rud comes around later, but we need a now. A backup QB in the now. There is no substitute for experience and proven game winners.

We will have a gimpy Ben, Rudolph.....coached by Tomlin. No playoff appearances for this group.
