fitzpatrick has already indicated he intends to stay in Miami

Tight up against the cap, the Steelers aren't going to spend money on a veteran QB. Why would a guy like Fitzpatrick come in when he can start another year for more money in Miami? The same could be said for guys like Dalton and others. Rudolph and his rookie salary will be the No. 2 next year, so we all better hope for Roethlisberger to be back in form or it'll be another 8-8 type season.

Perhaps a QB won't get a starters gig. Not the worst idea to go backup an aging QB coming off injury. I get some of the options will get starting opportunities. But perhaps we can get a decent left over in the second wave of free agency...

Tgey like the potential of Rudolph... he will be the backup... duck and paxton or some other udfa type fights it out for the three spot... that’s the reality... i mean barring some absurd scenario where a seriously good top ten overall type qb falls to the middle of the second round or Rudolph gets hurt or a quality qb comes here for the vet minimum... it’s just not happening...

Agree on Duck. I just can't see him making the team unless his arm somehow is much stronger come training camp. And, I can see Lynch making the team. If he is there for OTA's and mini-camp, he will definitely have a shot when camp comes around.
