He has found a good niche for himself here. From the ashes of being one of the biggest draft busts in the past couple decades and almost falling out of the league, he has turned into a useful role player. Once most guys bust out, they are never heard from again. Good for him.
DHB is a vetran guy that understands the X's and O's. He is a well rounded guy and can football very well. The arrow is pointing up on DHB as he continues to emplore his will on offense and special teams.
Honestly, I kinda disagree with their assessment of 5 million a year unless it's one of those deals where the last years guaranteed salary is so high it brings the earlier years up in average. I was thinking he'd sign a 4 year 16 million dollar deal, 4 in bonus and last year 5.5 million in base so in reality it makes it a 3 year 10.5 million deal with about 5 million guaranteed. I guess we will see in the next few days or maybe even hours.
I want to say great signing but it leaves me with more questions than answers. If Coates continues to improve, he should be the No. 4 WR next year behind AB, Bryant and Wheaton. That puts DHB as an exclusive special teams player and a distant back up to WR. I just hope this isn't another sign (like the drafting of Coates last year) that something is amiss with Bryant or some other WR. Hopefully, it's just something I ate for breakfast but this leaves me with an uneasy feeling in my stomach.
Agree, he played well for us last year.

With AB, Bryant, an emerging Coates and Bey I'd shop Wheaton for a 3rd round pick as he a free agent next year.
