Great signing.

That is a great deal for the Steelers and DHB. Very fair financially for the Steelers, plus security for DHB of being with one team long term. Will be 5 years at end of this contract. Great deal for all concerned.

DHB is a vetran guy that understands the X's and O's. He is a well rounded guy and can football very well. The arrow is pointing up on DHB as he continues to emplore his will on offense and special teams.

He has found a good niche for himself here. From the ashes of being one of the biggest draft busts in the past couple decades and almost falling out of the league, he has turned into a useful role player. Once most guys bust out, they are never heard from again. Good for him.

Apparently the Eagles were very interested in signing DHB. Good signing.

I dunno if coaching is something he's interested in, but he's definitely doing the right sort of things to hopefully get an opportunity with us(or elsewhere) some day.

he doesn't have the ego of "I'm a first round pick, I should be doing what I want" either.

When the Raiders picked him in the first, I think everyone, including him, knew he was not a first round pick...

Good deep threat too

1,3M for a guy that can give you 20 catches and 300 yards coming from the bench AND solid ST plays? For sure, welcome back

Another financially sound contract signing 2-2 so far, keep up the good work.

HERE WE GO STEELERS!

This might signal they will consider trading Wheaton, if they get a decent draft pick offer.

Honestly, I kinda disagree with their assessment of 5 million a year unless it's one of those deals where the last years guaranteed salary is so high it brings the earlier years up in average. I was thinking he'd sign a 4 year 16 million dollar deal, 4 in bonus and last year 5.5 million in base so in reality it makes it a 3 year 10.5 million deal with about 5 million guaranteed. I guess we will see in the next few days or maybe even hours.

Who are you talking about?

Oops I clicked on the link and then clicked on the link about William Gay.

I want to say great signing but it leaves me with more questions than answers. If Coates continues to improve, he should be the No. 4 WR next year behind AB, Bryant and Wheaton. That puts DHB as an exclusive special teams player and a distant back up to WR. I just hope this isn't another sign (like the drafting of Coates last year) that something is amiss with Bryant or some other WR. Hopefully, it's just something I ate for breakfast but this leaves me with an uneasy feeling in my stomach.

you know Bryant can get suspended in any given moment so you have to take some insurance. Also we don't know if the Steelers are open to offers for Wheaton, not that they are looking to trade him but if you get an offer you can't refuse you can pull the trigger because you have a vet WR to take snaps and play decently

Looks like, barring health issues, we are right as rain at the WR position headed into next year

This takes WR out of the draft completely... its a very thin position this year too IIRC. We can afford to trade one if we really wanted to as well.

See above,

Bryant is explosive in every sense of the word. If he stays focused he's a HUGE talent for the team and he makes the offense probably the best in the league with Ben, Brown, Bell and Bryant. (The 4 B's)

If he "loses focus" and you all know what I mean here... well. Coates and DHB need to step up and be major contributors. And given the potential of injuries any week, they will be necessary factors regardless.

Agree, he played well for us last year.

Did I miss something? He seemed to drop as many balls as he caught. It's not like WR unit was among our thinnest groups. I'd much rather see them sign a OL then sign a 4th-rate WR who can't catch when we have AB, Bryant, Wheaton and Coates already in the fold

With AB, Bryant, an emerging Coates and Bey I'd shop Wheaton for a 3rd round pick as he a free agent next year.

After AB and with Miller retiring why would you trade Wheaton. He has the second most experience on the team. Bryant has to stay clean. Coates is unproven. DHB value is special teams especially since Bryant and Coates don't play special teams
