Deflategate Investigation: Complete ... Awaiting Report.

As much as I'd love to see Brady suspended for week one, does anyone really think Goodell is going to suspend Brady for the opening night of the NFL season when they raise their banner? He should be, but Brady will appeal any punishment, Goodell will drag the appeal out so he can play week one, then suspend him after.

I would be beyond stunned if anything happens to Br*dy. They put forth this Wells investigation to buy them time through the SB. And then they dragged out the release of the report till right after the draft. Everything they do is done to protect the Cheats, Belicheat, Br*dy and Kr*ft.

Br*dy's agent speaks...

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...dys-agent-issues-response-to-ted-wells-report

Wednesday's release of the Ted Wells Report brought with it a conclusion that it was "more probable than not" that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was "at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities" regarding the deflation of Patriots game balls.

Brady's agent, Don Yee, issued a response Thursday, obtained by NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

"The Wells report, with all due respect, is a significant and terrible disappointment. It's omission of key facts and lines of inquiry suggest the investigators reached a conclusion first, and then determined so-called facts later. One item alone taints this entire report. What does it say about the league office's protocols and ethics when it allows one team to tip it off to an issue prior to a championship game, and no league officials or game officials notified the Patriots of the same issue prior to the game?

"This suggests it may be more probable than not that the league cooperated with the Colts in perpetrating a sting operation. The Wells report buries this issue in a footnote on page 46 without any further elaboration. The league is a significant client of the investigators' law firm; it appears to be a rich source of billings and media exposure based on content in the law firm's website.

"This was not an independent investigation and the contents of the report bear that out --- all one has to do is read closely and critically, as opposed to simply reading headlines. The investigators' assumptions and inferences are easily debunked or subject to multiple interpretations.

"Much of the report's vulnerabilities are buried in the footnotes, which is a common legal writing tactic. It is a sad day for the league as it has abdicated the resolution of football-specific issues to people who don't understand the context or culture of the sport. I was physically present for my client's interview. I have verbatim notes of the interview. Tom made himself available for nearly an entire day and patiently answered every question. It was clear to me the investigators had limited understanding of professional football.

"For reasons unknown, the Wells report omitted nearly all of Tom's testimony, most of which was critical because it would have provided this report with the context that it lacks. Mr. Wells promised back in January to share the results of this investigation publicly, so why not follow through and make public all of the information gathered and let the public draw its own conclusions? This report contains significant and tragic flaws, and it is common knowledge in the legal industry that reports like this generally are written for the benefit of the purchaser."

A league spokesman declined to comment when reached by NFL Media.

Yee's response follows a statement from Patriots owner Robert Kraft on Wednesday.

Funny how Yee fails to acknowledge the FACT that his client DID NOT FULLY COOPERATE w/ the investigation by supplying access to his cell phone...:anyone:

Or suspend him for the divisional games under the guise that it's a more harsh penalty while playing stupid to the fact that it's against lesser competition.

Look belichek will get nothing, despite my belief that coaches are ultimately responsible. The org, on the other hand may get a fine for failing to properly police itself.

the pats fans will whine and cry, but Brady has to get something for stonewalling... the fact is he had a chance to provide records to clear himself of any implication and opted to withold everything. for that the league has to take the assumption of guilt. this isnt a courrt... its a business, and he made them look bad and did nothing to help explain it away.

T*m LIED. http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/06/us/nfl-deflategate-report/
Investigators found Brady and Jastremski spoke on the phone six times over the next three days. The quarterback also sent text messages "seemingly designed to calm Jastremski ('You good Jonny boy?'; 'You doing good?')," according to the report, which added the two hadn't corresponded during the previous six months.

Investigators said the phone exchanges were evidence of Brady's awareness to the scheme.

What would be fair, compared to others who were punished is a full season suspension and have them vacate the title. Bwady cheated, lied, and failed to cooperate with investigators. Does anyone in their right mind think that was the only game this happened? But, seeing as how this report miraculously was released a week after the NFL draft, when they could have taken away picks, I see how this is going...

"It was a STING!"

The Colts complained ahead of time and the league didn't tell us they were going to CHECK!

I mean **** man. What the hell! Dude, be cool and give a courtesy call before you come bustin' through the door and ****.

The most damning evidence is the not the PSI of the balls, its the string of text messages.

You ban McNally and Jerkowski because of the tone of their conversation. They are completely unprofessional and blatantly and clearly disregard the rules of the game. Brady's involvement, while strongly implied, is not quite as definite, nor is his tone/directive.

In fact, you could argue Brady wants his balls EXACTLY 12.5 psi (legal but on the low end) and these guys have struggled to make him happy. It is unclear whether Brady knew about "the needle" while it is clear McNally and Jerkowski knew about the "needle".

The whole thing about these employees is shady. Why should doing their job require kickbacks from the players? Why should they be getting sneakers and jerseys?

Is Brady paying for illegal activity or is it more "when the balls feel good, he gives them a bonus"? It's just extremely unclear when I read the report.

The hammer should really come down on the team. These are THEIR employees that are discussing by text cheating the game and getting paid under the table in merchandise (I doubt either of these guys filed these perks on their taxes). And because this is a 2nd offense for stretching the rules, it needs to be substantial. And to me it needs to be MORE than last time.

"I'm not going to ESPN.........Yet" ????

If Brady is punished in the same matter as any other player, this really does warrant an entire year suspension. They did not suspend Belicheat a year for spygate, so I do not expect the league to do much about Brady.

B*ll*ch*ck should get a year suspension simply for the additional crap that's fallen upon his team on his watch. If you can suspend Sean Peyton for something he knew nothing about simply because "He's responsible for the conduct of everyone on his team." then you CERTAINLY have to suspend a guy who's ALREADY been found guilty of conduct unbecoming the league in the past for new infractions by people UNDER him.

If he's responsible for the conduct of everyone on the team as Peyton and his assistants were, I don't know how you can avoid this undeniable fact. B*ll*ch*ck has prior history. He's a clear choice for a full year suspension at the very least. And that's before you ever GET to the guy who refused to cooperate with the investigation, T*m Br*dy.

I bet Brandy and Billacheat walk without any punishment. It will be said they presented themselves poorly and will be reprimanded for it, but no fines or suspensions. They have their pasties. McNally and Jerkowski. They will pay for it all.

That is one of the reasons the pats fans are crying foul... its funny... The pats get caught red handed... still were allowed to bend rule or outright break them to get to a super bowl again, and somehow everyone else are the bad guys... face it Pat fans, your team is scum... the least sportsmanlike team in pro sports... tainted forever in every mind but your own...

Brady wouldn;t surrender his phone because he likely texted Darth Hoodie during the process.

There should be a demand for Hoodies and Kraft's phones.

Though Kraft is likely krafty enough not to text illicit discussions.

Pete Rose his ***, RIGHT NOW. As well as Belicheet.

**** won't happen though.

Interesting thing before the season started from the text messages on the phone I 'll say that againBEFORE THE SEASON STARTED
In another text message sent before the season started, McNally calls himself the "deflator" and tells Jastremski that he needs some new shoes. Eleven days before the AFC championship game, McNally texts the equipment assistant and reminds him to have Brady autograph two footballs and to get him some shoes.

That should put to rest that this was a one game thing or an Isolated item. It is likely to have started in 2007 as was postulated by the fumble report. Not conclusive but it is definitely quacking like a duck and should soon be walking like one. The fact about a sting is hilarious, just the thing that is done to catch criminals, guess what if you did nothing wrong you would have got caught doing the right thing.

The sad thing about this entire thing is that

1. No matter what we think the comish is going to have his way
2. If there are inconsistencies in the way things are handles there will be plausible excuses in their minds.

In a perfect world the words used during BountyGate would apply here ..

IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE -- and they would suspend the coach and the player --

the *PATS and BR*D*Y are still the darlings of the NFL and all the other teams are CHUMPS ..

I saw it while at the gym... Bettis flat out calls them "known felons at this point" and says they've "always been" on the shady side.

I want people to think about Ben's suspension and Bountygate coach's punishment before you throw out what you think the punishment should be.

Because anything less than those punishments with

A. pats organization repeat offenders

B. Ben didn't cheat didn't get arrested and received time off

..........any thing less than those punishments is BULL ******* ****

Bigappleyinzer

So did you have any luck with the crop dusting operation you were talking about previously......inquiring minds want to know
